The Pelgart family is a small, humble family with big ambitions. Originally from Nida, the Pelgart family now resides in Belegmon as faithful servants of Coria.
History
The Pelgart family is able to trace its origins to Nida. The Pelgart family was a politically insignificant family of meager means. While in Nida they served a long succession of nobles as minor functionaries and courtiers. While serving in Nida, the Pelgart family had the opportunity to serve several different countries and Nida changed hands. The fact that the Pelgart Family survived in Nida for so long, despite numerous take overs, led to the family becoming rather prominent amongst the locals, but they wanted more.
Having experienced life under the republican government of the Cagilan Empire, the Pelgart family decided to leave Nida during a period of Carelian control and relocate to Tarasac believing that they would have greater opportunity to distinguish themselves and that they could benefit from the stability of the massive Cagilan Empire. Shortly after establishing themselves The Butter Rebellion began. Fortune, and the Pelgart family's natural tenacity, allowed the family to survive.
Now under the rule of Tara, the Pelgart family once again served as minor officials of a region. Despite its best efforts, the Pelgart family seemed doomed to mediocrity. After many years of service, the Pelgart family, under the leadership of Hestor and Jamil, heard of the establishment of Coria. Believing that a small, new republic to be the perfect place to gain prominence and power, the Pelgart family relocated yet again.
The Pelgart family has fared much better since coming to Coria. The began by serving as minor officials in Barad Falas but relocated to Belegmon once Coria had established firm control of the region. During its service to Coria the Pelgart family has managed to increase it wealth and groom a new generation of Pelgarts destined to deliver the family from their long history of minor regional lords and bring the Pelgart family to prominence.
Family
The Butter Rebellion resulted in the loss of many Pelgarts, losses the family has yet to fully recover from. Currently, there are only two living generations. The senior generation consists of Hestor and Jamil Pelgart, two elderly brothers who jointly lead the family.

Current Leadership
Jamil has lived the life of a soldier of sorts. He has led many militia units and has also assisted with the training of new soldiers in various recruitment centers. Jamil has a reputation of being simple of word and thought, though none would call him slow. He has demonstrated great loyalty. His has demonstrated great skill in combat and has proven to be a capable organizer and trainer.
Hestor's past is more or less unknown. He demonstrates great skill with the sword, intrigue, leadership and politics, but he refuses to comment on his 17 year career. Hestor's exploits, unknown as they may be, have contributed substantially to the Pelgart family's increased wealth and station. Despite Hestor's shadowy past, none who have met him doubt his integrity, honor and valor.

As Jamil and Hestor have retired and now lead the family from the comforts of the family estate in Belegmon, their children are now off, actively perusing their careers and striving to bring the Pelgart family greater prestige and Wealth.
