| − | Former Duke Corwin D'Saferate passed away in his sleep yesterday night. The old duke who had retired from realm wide affairs had been ill for a long time. Corwin Duke of Oligarch had for a long time held the realm reserve. This was a huge responsibility as it meant most of the gold to finance Westmoor's armies during the wars with Sirion and Fontan passed through his hands. If ever he were ill or unable to perform his duties then nobody would have access to the reserve funds that kept the kingdom running. With his retirement and the loss of [[Oligarch]] Corwin handed the reserve over to the King and now it is run by a number of separate bodies so there is no longer such a large responsibility. These funds almost completely ran out during the war against Fontan followed by the war against Sirion when Fontan's armies were through black magics elevated to legion. Corwin at that time funded Westmoor's largest ever army. He will be sorely missed amongst the people of Westmoor below is the King's address to the realm:
