A mix of good and bad news for Westmoor - more bad than good. As you may have noticed we made Commonyr go rogue but today Sirion with its large army has made the region of Greatbridge also go rogue in return. A peace treaty was offered recently by Sirion but the details included Westmoor agreeing never to expand ever. Sirion itself is of course happy to continue gobbling up any regions it can get its hands on but a treaty where Westmoor would agree never to expand is something we of course would be unable to keep.

One advantage to having Commonyr rogue is the mass starvation that seems to be setting in on regions at the moment, partly to the poor weather and farming that has hit East continent lately. This will make moving troops in and out of the region for Sirion much more difficult and hopefully slow their war machine down a little. Considering how much punishment Westmoor has had to take over the last five months we're doing considerably better than might be expected.

Overall this war is dragging out rather slowly. It's hard to see Westmoor achieving any victory over the massive force that is Sirion although with the very long refit times Sirion has to endure for its army it's also hard to see them doing any lasting damage to Westmoor's regions. We'll see what happens.

Obviously my knowledge of what goes on in Eponllyn and Armonia is rather limited but the news of certain battles does occasional make its way up into the taverns of Westmoor. Apparently Eponllyn recently won a battle in Jariedma. This is the first big battle that Eponllyn has won and possibly could be a turning point in the war? So far Amonia is still leading having taken the region of Ejarr Puutl but refit times are so fast for both realms that really anything could happen.

Fontan was an empire that has been around since records began but all that came to an end very recently when the city of Krimml went rogue. During a recent battle Basilius Decimus was struck down bringing an end to another life of one of the Fontanese upper circle. There were of course a multitude of reasons why Fontan was not able to survive in the months leading up to it's destruction many of which were probably avoidable. The realm of Fontan was once the largest that this continent has ever seen and now will remain as a memory in the hearts of the families that once called it their home.

Armonia seems to be making progress having captured the region of Ejarr Puutl from Eponllyn along with successfully defending it from the recent attack by Eponllyn. This was the fist major battle of the war and so far Amonia seem to have the upper hand.

In a tragic symbol of the fall of the once mighty realm of Fontan, Rhidana Dubhaine was struck down today by the unit of Percival Prestongreen the Cagilan duke of Hamadan. Although somewhat eccentric Rhidana was a long standing member of Fontan through thick and thin holding the position of Minister for defense multiple times during her lifetime. As previously mentioned in June Fontan is without a ruler or a judge and now that Rhidana has had her life ended there is only a treasurer Ariana Carnes left in a council seat of what should be four.

Rhidana was present feared and loathed on the other side of numerous battles with Westmoor and respected as one of our enemies. Instead of fleeing to other realms as many of the Fontan nobles did during it's fall she chose to remain until the bitter end dying a heroes death in Fontan's remaining city of Krimml. Always quick to tell us to "cast off the yoke" of whoever was in charge at the time it was Rhidana who was sadly unable to change the government of Fontan which lost all its diplomatic allies. With Caligus and Perdan's declaration of war Fontan was doomed.

Fontan still has thirty nobles remaining as members of the realm most of which are expected to start packing their bags. Where will they go to? Sirion is obviously a likely but ironic new home, other possibilities include former Ibladeshi allies Eponllyn and Armonia. Obviously it's somewhat unlikely that Fontanese nobles will want to make a home for themselves in Westmoor, Perdan or Caligus.

Loved and hated, respected and loathed: Rest in peace Rhidana Dubhaine.

All in all the map looks similar to the one we showed last month with the exception that Krimml is back in Sirion hands. We are busy here in Westmoor preparing our defenses for the next attacks from the enemy. Westmoor managed to regain the rogued region of Troyes. Perdan and Sirion are away at refit and may not be back onto the battlefield for some time giving us some time to rest and repair.

New Westmoor.jpg

End of newspaper ?? ??1014

With the loss of Westmoor's capitol city due to Sirion and allied forces assaulting the city, the newspaper was forced to close along with the destruction of the realm of Westmoor. New Westmoor successfully covered a large period of Westmoor's history through thick and thin and will be sorely missed. Let the wars continue on!

War continues 2 June 1014

All in all the map looks similar to the one we showed last month with the exception that Krimml is back in Sirion hands. We are busy here in Westmoor preparing our defenses for the next attacks from the enemy. Westmoor managed to regain the rogued region of Troyes. Perdan and Sirion are away at refit and may not be back onto the battlefield for some time giving us some time to rest and repair.
