History

Pre-nobility

Cayden was raised for four years at the Blue Tower in Ren Madragas. He trained as a battle caster, trained in the sword, axe, and spell casting. Having found a unique scroll, he convinced his elders to let him study it. When he finally got close enough to translating the rare work, he tried casting it. Cursed from the spell that backfired, he was known to go into several rages, the first of which resulted in a dozen dead brothers at the Blue Tower. From there he fled, disappearing for a time.

Perdan

Cayden began his career in Perdan as a knight of Aix. He quickly joined the Sharpscree Expedition to found a new realm on the East Continent, and served as a knight in his full capacity for a time.

While in Perdan, glaciers formed to the south, waters churned to the east, and the volcano billowed black smoke across the land, covering everything in darkness. It was during this time, that Cayden realized his rages had a voice. The Goddess Galtea was speaking to him in his mind. When the disasters cleared, he had correctly predicted new lands around the volcano. The ice receded, and the Elves were wiped off of the map. He saw Galtea's blessings and protection from the waves, and was committed. Reaching out to several dukes, he told his tale and began trying to communicate with the being in his head.

Alexandria

Alexandria was founded by Daizen Tideweaver in the newly formed regions around the volcano. With the support of Crail Madstone, Kenneth MacArbin, and Daizen Tideweave, Cayden was able to become the temporary Viscount of Stora, and founded the Aspects of the Flame. With the help of Aila Storme, and Kenneth MacArbin, Cayden was able to get the faith off of the ground and moving in earnest. When The Pride of Leandra collapsed, the ties to Aspects of the Flame brought many members to his church looking for a place to resume worship of their Goddess.

Alexandria went through a significant amount of turbulence from its inception. Rulers transitioned like clockwork, and Cayden often found himself volunteering to take up tasks just to see things done. It was during this time he met Elrysend Rotizoi, the inquisitive mind that gave him some semblance of connection to the ever changing realm. After meeting her several times he made it a vow to dive into alchemy and the healing arts to help her using ancient knowledge from the lost continents of the Far East and Atamara. During the reign of Octavian Schwarzherzig, Cayden took up the role of executioner and was forced to execute nearly a hundred people within the week.

He maintained the position through a series of following rulers until he finally stood up to take over himself. Cayden tried to resurrect the failing realm and helped it limp along for some time before deciding to start a merger with Eponllyn.

Eponllyn

After finally stepping down from ruler of Alexandria, Cayden made enemies with Caligus' Patriarch Pasquale Contéfigardo for his actions, stepping in to discredit the war Perdan and Caligus declared against his new home.

While on scout duty om Altar of Flames, two important events happened for Cayden. The first was that he finally completed a vitality elixir left behind by an ancestor, in an attempt to cure or mitigate Elrysend's illness. They officially entered into a relationship during this time. The second was the raising of Toci Osoro to nobility. The church sheltered her for some time before he finally was able to arrange for everything she needed to be elevated and to protect her life for speaking out against those that had abused her.
