Despite rumours that the item was created under unfavorable stars, it is said to endow the wearer with incredible strength of will and protection from grievous injury in battle. The freeman Keichus presented the breastplate to Glaumring Apasurain upon his election as Justiciar of Virovene as a congratulatory gift.

King Glaumring Apasurain still wears the breastplate it can be found in the theocracy of Thulsoma.

The breast plate of Strength was destroyed during a massive invasion of monsters, Lord Glaumring without fear dove from the Storm keeps Aelwolf fortress walls and fought off 40 or so monsters while he awaited the arrival of General Randemicos. When all seemed lost Glaumring was struck in the chest with a black blade and the plate did crumble to dust, the monster with black blade then retreated from the Storms keep when all its henchmen were destroyed. The dust of the breast-plate is said to lay within the Storms keep in the royal museum.
