Proper Roleplay in Melodia

What we mean and how serious we are with this.

• Proper address is always required.

Your superiors must always be addressed with their entire title. Failure to do so equals with an indirect insult.

• Letters must have the form of letters.

• Roleplays should evolve in regional level.

Not everyone is able to interact with your character, but only those who are in the same region with your character. There is no point in realmwide roleplays for everyone to enjoy since the RPG-list is the most suitable place for you to post your roleplays. That will ensure the fact that your character's personality remains hidden from those with whom you do not interact with which makes perfect sense; how can one learn of your personality if he has never spoken to you?

• Communication develops through the feudal hierarchy. Directly contacting a superior trespassing your liege equals with an indirect insult for neglecting your liege's authority over you.

Nonesense like directly contacting the ruler/royal council asking for gold or complaining for your liege will most probably result to punishment. There is a chain of command, a specific feudal hierarchy, and there is available to anyone for a reason. Contact your liege who will then contact his duke who will then contact the appropriate authority, if he dares.

• Always remember that we are all playing a role.

Some may be very strict, stupid, bloody, crazy, whatever... Remember that we are all roleplaying and we try to be good at it. Please, avoid taking things personally as if you (the player) are under attack. Insulting your character, which will be very probable especially if you are roleplaying in the lesser ranks, does not mean that we intend to insult you as a player.

• Do not physically harm any character during roleplay unless if you have his permission or know his roleplaying style. There are game options that grant you that opportunity.

Physically attacking a character without his player consent is always considered poor roleplay. If you wish to do so, there are options such as duels and infiltrators' actions that give you that opportunity.

• Always avoid OOC communication as much as possible.

Out of character (OOC) communication is restricted to only the most necessary. If you wish to create friendships, make an OOC joke or anything else, then do so through the IRC or in another realm. In Melodia, we attempt to maintain a medieval atmosphere and spoiling our fun is not something we take lightly. We do not wish to spoil yours, so you should better do not spoil ours. Constant OOC communication might result to OOC banishment; end of discussion.

Now that you have read these very few rules and you have comprehended how serious we are with proper roleplay, think again if that is the realm you wish to roleplay. If it is, you are welcome to join us and have fun, but you proceed at your own risk. If you do not like our way, then you should better seek for another realm to play in. :)
