This is a new and experimental feature, the limits are not yet active, but are being displayed in-game for informational purposes and to help us do the final tweaking.

Your account can hold multiple characters, but not an unlimited amount. There are three limits:

Character Limit

The total amount of characters you can have in your character list. If you hit this, you can not create any more characters until the limit is increased or you permanently retire characters.

This value depends solely on your time in the game. You start with 2 characters, then you get +1 slot after a week, another +1 after a month and from then on +1 every year you have been playing.

Active Limit

Not all of your characters can be active at the same time. You can have more characters (upt to your Character Limit) in your character list, if the additional ones are paused. This allows you to put characters you have grown fond of but bored with into temporary hibernation for a while. Initially, you can have 2 characters active. If you make your info public to strengthen our community, you get +1 active slots. Those who made a donation also get +1 active characters.

Nobles Limit

Not all of your characters can be nobles. You begin the game as a minor noble family, which only has one noble character active at any time. As your family fame increases, so does the number of nobles your family can afford to sustain, up to a maximum of four. Donors get +1 here as well.
