Arcaea/Military Archives/The Reclamation of Niel

Following the end of the The War of Sartania's Destruction it was decided that Arcachon would hold Niel and all regions taken from Sartania north of Niel, save Tapaliez which was for Arcaea. However, there was a condition in this agreement that should Arcachon fail to hold Niel, or any other former Sartanian region, Arcachon would cede all claims to these regions to Arcaea. During one of Arcachon's many civil wars, Niel was lost, and stayed independent for over a year. King Jenred Kindon-Bedwyr had offered assistance to Arcachon in retaking the city, but once the year had passed, declared that Arcaea was invoking its treaty-rights to Niel. Arcachon refused to accept Arcaea's right to do so, and hostilities commenced. The war ended after a rebellion led by Dormondt Lankmere and Ciann Fraoch, and left Arcaea in possession of Niel and Irneas, as well as a number of non-region concessions from Arcachon: First right of purchase for all Arcachonian food surpluses at no more than thirty gold per hundred bushels; The clearing of all bans on Arcaean infiltrators; And Arcachonian participation in the Feudal League of the Far East, which became the Order of the Hawk.
