Although it may hardly seem news, yet more monsters, like a neverending tide, are appearing across the continent. Poryatu has once more been hit, and as always Nid Tek is buried in the beasts. The Silver Shields have been fighting valiantly in the north, seeing off greater strengths than themselves. It appears that arrows can discourage monsters from attacking, causing them to flee even when they have a superior force. Although the outskirts of Askileon, the very Purlieus itself, came under attack, it seems that the monsters were bravely seen off.
In news from up north, it would appear that a monsterous horde greater than any other has appeared south of Morek. This force is the second most powerful army on the continent, and has been building up force from the Freke-Mimer peninsula. How Morek will see off this threat, while under constant harassment from smaller monster hordes, is yet to be seen.
With the uncultivated regions being prone to harbouring hordes of monsters, it would appear that the most sensible method of reducing their numbers is to reduce their nearby habitats. Until now, this tactic of standing back to back with each other has allowed Springdale and Morek to avoid unmanageable spawnings of monsters. There are rumours that a definitive border line is being discussed with the Grand Duchy of Fissoa in the south; if the two realms could pacify the regions between them then exposure to monsters would be significantly reduced, allowing more troops to be allocated to the northern frontier. While this may seem unlikely to come to fruition, it may be Pian en Luries best hope.
