The Monster Report!
August 16th Macal
Undoubtedly, the greatest threats to the realms on this continent are the hordes of undead and monsters that periodically ravage our lands and eat our peasants. Accordingly, this newspaper shall in future deliver a weekly report of the greatest monster hordes that we hear of. Please send us news of any particularly massive ones, wherever you are! The report will list monster problems by Duchy, focusing on Pian en Luries, but covering other realms when we have the relevant information. Sizes of the various factors will be measured in the following order: None, Slight, Moderate, Dangerous, Deadly.

Giask: Southeasterly 5 or 6 ((5k or 6k CS)), Mobility moderate or dangerous, Growth slight or moderate, Proximity dangerous.

Askileon: Northwesterly 5, Mobility dangerous, Growth none or slight, Proximity slight.

Poryatown: Southwesterly 3 or 4, Mobility none or slight, Growth slight, Proximity dangerous.

The Great Sickness?
August 16th Macal
Duke Diodorus has reportedly fallen sick, and currently resides within the city of Askileon. The details of his sickness are unknown. Fortunately, despite the General's inability to direct the fighting, his valiant and well trained soldiers marched to Giask and saw off a monstrous threat to the city itself.

In related news, a spree of nobles have disappeared across the realm, failing to answer any letters. It is unknown whether they are in fact dead, but some have hypothesised that they have fallen deadly sick with a certain disease. Perhaps the same disease as Duke Diodorus?

No Treaty
August 16th Macal
Despite rumours that a defensive pact was on the verge of being signed with the Grand Duchy of Fissoa, so far no more news has been heard on the subject. A collaboration to destroy monsters coming from the south would be extremely useful; might our leaders do more to see that this comes about?
The Colonial Report
August 16th Macal
As with our monster report, the Lurian Weekly intends to provide a weekly account of how the various colonies and other realms around Dwilight are progressing.

Darfix's venture in Qubel Lighthouse has failed utterly; the colony is now nonexistent.

While mutterings are still being heard about ideas for another Western colony from the Lurian Rebels, these plans have yet to be seen put into action.

Contrasting with this, Caerywyn colony has yet to establish an identity for itself, not even deciding upon a flag, while apparently making some practical progress with the addition of Saffalore.

In other news, Everguard is apparently slipping further towards destruction, with reports of a large monster host marching towards Gelene. The once proud realm has been reduced to three regions.

Kneevil, Greater Spotted
August 16th Monster Compendium
Found by: Macal Kandurell

The Greater Spotted Kneevil is a fearsome beast, living either alone or in small family groups. It is easily twice the height of a man, and it walks upon four legs. With brown fur and black spots, it somewhat resembles a massive lion or hyeena. Its huge jaw is quite capable of eating a man in two bites.

Kneevils prefer to live in caves near the surface, or failing that enlarge hollows in the landscape. Recently they have found a liking for large manmade buildings, like barracks and warehouses. They are extremely territorial creatures, dangerous when threatened, and have been known to cooperate with the undead.
