By Relkin Sypher Storytelling Contest August 30th

The York journal is hosting a storytelling contest in September. We hope this will be the first of many. Prizes will be awarded to those who place first, second and third. The winners will be selected by the nobility of Minas Ithil and all contestants will be published in the York Journal in a special feature.

Special prizes might also be handed out according to secret criteria known only to the judges. The contest is only open to the nobility of Minas Ithil. The Journal reserves the right to disqualify anyone for any reason as they see fit.

By Targon Valerian Lux A Day of Sorrow August 29th

Today Minas Ithil has lost a great noble. Sir Jearom Gaidin has fallen in Battle of Cori. He fought to the last, refusing to withdraw with the rest of the army. He fought with great courage, for he knew no fear. Many Tarans, Darkans and Taleriumites lay dead around him, but in the end he was overcome.

In life he chose the hardest path, the one of a Hero. He was a men of high ideals and deeds, the one who lead by example. He honoured written word greatly, as anyone here in York Journal can confirm, but wasn't affraid to wield a blade when time called for it. He was pride of Minas Ithil. May we never forget what he fought for!

By Targon Valerian Lux Tyrant's face is RED August 24th

As of lately the great puppeteer of Atamara, namely The Lion, finally revealed its true tricky face. After suffering few defeats from the Falasani armies, along with their northern minions Taleriumites and Darkans, Cagilans have had an epiphany, and concluded they are no match for The Rabbit. It hit them at that moment that they had plenty more of these minion hordes in the souteast, so they gave Tarans a "little" push, a simple reminder as to who is in charge, and who gives orders on Atamara.

Previously they ensured a nice little land-grabbing party for the Carelians and leftovers of Abington by serving them Ash Sea Islands on a silver platter, just to keep them occupied. The proud realm of Ash Sea thus found herself battling Carelia, Caergoth, Suville and Tara all at once. Minas Ithil was not of much concern to Cagilans at that moment since it already fought the whole Northern Federation, and could not help Falasan nor ASI. However, it did come as a little surprise when these rival realms concluded a peace treaty. But, not to worry, the shadow of The Lion reaches great distances; latest actions of the Barony of Makar confirm this.

Time has thus become ripe for the total attack on the Falasani regions. This attack is now in a full swing, all the minions are up and running, doing Cagilan dirty work with good will. Why, you may ask? Cagilans have promised land aplenty. Everyone's getting something, everyone's in for a share. "If you have no honour, please, feel free to join, this is good for your realm!", is what they're basically saying. How does it all reflect Minas Ithil? Clearly, no good can come from it, with ASI on a deathbed, and Falasani regions divided amongst Cagilan Empire and their minions, it is only a matter of time before Minas Ithil is dealt with too.

On the other hand, Eston has made war with Falasan earlier, it has made war with Minas Ithil as well, but ironically though it may seem, it is the only place that any hope can be searched for by the Eastern Alliance. We must wait for the honourable nobles of Atamara to wake from their slumber, so that their piercing eyes can break through the shadow of The Lion, to see the red tyrant in the full glory. Hopefully, this shall happen before whole of Atamara is engulfed with Cagilan darkness. Therefore, we are obliged to continue our fight against all odds, so that Atamara can be given a chance...

By Roxas Sypher Dark tidings August 21st

Barony of Makar has allied with Tara, a move seemingly at odd with the rest of the Northern Federation. The Barony of Makar has also ended the peace treaty that marked the end of hostilities with Minas Ithil.

In Falasan, Barad Falas is now cut off from the rest of the realm by the Cagilan Empire. Falasan has regained Picnu but the city of Tucha is still dangerously close to the front lines. Taran forces are sure to attempt to claim the city.

Meanwhile, for Ash Sea Islands the city of Ash'rily is all that remains of their holdings on the southern island. If Ash'rily falls, Ash Sea Islands days may be numbered, especially with them almost surrounded by hostile nations already.

By Roxas Sypher Gauihu alive? August 16th

Rumor has it that the Mad King of Abington, Gauihu Olik, is alive and back on Atamara. Gauihu has apparently been in Darka, one of Abington's enemies. Its not known where he has been since Abington fell apart or why he returned. If you spot the Mad King we at the York journal recommend caution as he is rumored to be an impressive swordsman.
