So what? The game gives them to you every time you do something!

====================================================

Standard:

Scouting report:

Your scout returns with the following information: Scout Report (Remton): [Scribe:xxx]

No changes in Remton.

So, you've got a little time, and want to make it more interesting. Alright, first your character. Sitting in the same region for more than a week, scouting, bored out of his skull. Who else is there? The scout! Who else? Maybe someone inside the tent...?

Dreck approached his Lord's tent nervously. This was the first time he had ever been entrusted to carry out the scouting mission on his own, and he was loathe to make a mess of it.

"M-m'lord?" he called out. No answer. Strange, he could swear he had heard noises inside just a moment ago. He called again.

"M'lord Hemming? Sir?" he shouted more loudly.

A muffled giggling from within, then the answering call.

"What? Who is it?"

"Scout Dreck, Second class, sir, reporting on the situation in Remton," he answered, trying to sound official.

"And?" the voice demanded.

"Uh, n-no action, sir!" he stammered.

A head emerged from within the tent, with mussed hair and an angry expression.

"no? Well, if you haven't noticed, scout, there's some going on in here! Leave it with the scribe for distribution!"

The head poked back inside the tent, not waiting for acknowledgment.

Okay, a little long - you don't want to write that for every scouting report, training session, etc. But the lessons from this?

Use the script the game produces as your setting
Think about what people are present, or might be
Thank about the general state of those people (bored, new to the job, etc.)

Then just try to have fun with it.
