Having attended the region where someone had set up some portal stones, and sending his contingent of special forces, along with a number of scrolls, into the pyre that was raging in the region, everything settled down and, as he was about to make the journey home alone, the Weird Duck gave a couple of quacks before flapping up onto Rakaarox's shoulders, where it now spends most of its time (excepting when it goes off with the commoner Colin for a detox and grooming session). It appeared from the place where the pyre had been, but who knows what this thing is, just that it's a bit strange.
