Lasanar.png Milan's Letter to Lasanar on 2006-08-28

My friends and very dear fellow Lasanarians,

I remember coming to Lasanar, a long time ago. I followed the call of a friend, who took me from my bureaucratic duties and asked me to come to this far away place called Lasanar. No idea I had of its sweetness, its beauty or its promise..

It was just the four us of us, back then. We had six regions to maintain and nowhere near hands enough. Luckily my best friend William soon followed and the rest is, as they say, history.

I followed the greatest man Lasanar ever had as its leader, our own Daran the Great. In his footsteps and shadows no man threads lightly..

Yet I gave it my all and the sacrifices were many. I lost my daughter, among many, to the duties sweet Lasanar asks. I was even forced to enter the underground when friend-turned-foe Sarig the betrayer usurped my trust and rebelled. But in the end, even given the various secessions, Lasanar grew and grew into the sweet beauty it is now.

She is like a headstrong woman, always changing her mind with a fury no man can curb. She will ask everything you have and ask for seconds. No harder job than satisfying a woman that cannot be satisfied..

In the eye of recent events, Lasanar needs a strong leader who believes in the system we chose to employ. As my very good friend Galiard pointed out, I do not. No longer can I put my all into a system that destroys itself. No longer can I be the leader of Lasanar, for duty calls to us all. Lasanar needs a strong man, a leader who will know how to handle pressure, time and loyalties.

With a heavy heart I must tell you, all my friends, that I must lay down my rule. I no longer believe in this system and do no longer have the burning flame to fight the wars that need to be fought. Some time spent quietly in my beloved Castle Ozrat, comtemplating the loss of my daughter Rosalind, will hopefully give me the peace of mind needed to regain my sense of duty.

I hereby give my powers to Aethius, who has proven himself time and again, a worthy Prime to be. I cannot ask, but as Lasanar's longest ruler I can only suggest you choose wisely. I confide in him, and trust him to be the one we need.

Sleep tight, sweet Lasanar, I will be back.
