Vatticus, a previous outlaw and well-known troublemaker was banned from several realms upon his entrance. When he arrived at Darka's doorstep, the council decided to let him stay after much debate. Lady Lavigna has since taken him in. However, earlier today, Lavigna created an army called Homeguard army, for those in Homeguard, another way of calling the Civil Service team. Lavigna appointed Vatticus as Marshall of the Homeguard army, which no doubt sparked heated arguements. Yeti, Count of Wistir, openly protested against this appointment. Troop Leader Disagrees Yeti has expressed his disagreement with the Judge's recent actions. He is giving this reason: The appointment of Vattacus as Marshall of the Home Guard is outrageous! The man has no appreciation of human life and has numerous times shown disrespect to the Bureaucrats that are a major part of Home Guard. He has been banished from kingdoms more times then he has bathed. He is more experienced in being outlawed then military tatics. He has not set foot outside Darka since he arrived. Does this sound like a man who should be a Marshall?

Troop Leader Disagrees Fade has expressed his disagreement with the Judge's recent actions. He is giving this reason: I may be new to the realm, but I must agree with Yeti on this one. In my very short time here, I have seen nothing but bloodlust, brutality, and an overconfidence in Vatticus that can only cause more hardships to the people of Darka. As a noble, Vatticus threatened my family. With an entire army at his command, what else might he do?This does not bode well. Lavigna said she was giving Vatticus a chance to prove himself, a chance that she believes no one else will give. Lavigna has stated Vatticus will be Marshall no matter how much the other nobles disagree.

9th January Vatticus, recently appointed Marshall, wrote: Darka as a whole is a wonderful place. There are those of us who embrace a savage life, and those of us who walk a civil path. There are wise and inteligent Darkans... and "dumb as a punch in the arse" Darkans. It is a diverse and interesting place. Many have stated that "Vatticus the Marshal" is a mistake, a joke, an insult and a sham. The King himself, and our Law Mother Lavigna... as well as the council and Nobles alike, have shown respect for the choice. How do I "Vatticus" feel? Thats easy. Screw those who don't agree, and thank the gods I don't have free right to throw those who hiss at me into the Volcano. Yes I have killed men. Yet I serve along thousands of men who were recently ordered to rape and burn Abington. Women were seeded with violence. Children hung and gutted. farms burned and salted, men beheaded and dragged through the streets. The "looting of Abington" has made it into history books world wide. Once the King said to us all, that my spirit is the spirit of Darka, and that I should not be seen as an enemy or outlaw but a symbol of what Darka stands for. I save this message and would have my scribe read it to me daily. I never knew what it meant back then... I simply thought the King was possibly just as savage as I. But now, over a year later, I have burnt the words into my memory so no scribe is needed to read it to me any more. I have finally come to understand what the King may have meant with his words. You see... the majority of kingdoms in this world view Darka as the majority of Darkans view me; Savage, lawless, without respect for honor or life, foul tempered, rude and arrogant. MOST humans in Atamara see us all as thugs and un-nobles. Children all over Atamara are told "if you do not eat your greens, Darka will send Mercs to take you away and eat you". We know the world to be wrong. And though we are called pigs, we live life rich and with reward becuase we do it RIGHT! Here I am suffering the same judgment from equals within my home land. And here I am living with rewards I never considered important before Darka; A king's respect and good wishes, a law Mother's trust and promotion within her army as marshal, Nobles who I now see as not only fellow Mercs but family... Yes, most of Darka sees me as worthless, but the very council, King and Law have agreed otherwise. There are those who say I have "kissed ass" to get this title. Foolish idiots would only say such a thing...and I am sure thats what they are. I did not kiss any arse to get to be the head of Monster squad. I served loyal, showed talent in butchering living things that deserve LESS respect then humans we kill. I was given a chance to use this talent. I have accepted it and plan to be a Marshal unlike any seen. I want nothing of power. Those who know me best fight along side me and hail me a brother know this well. Those who hate me most are nothing more then wimpy babies who wanna "whaaaaaaa-whaaaa" when I stomp a scribe's head or kill a few guards when pissed. Yeah well... TUFF! I'm no sugar coated mamby-pam, and I sure ain't no BORING yes-man. I am a fracking professional killer who enjoys my job. What better place for a Dog like me then on our soil protecting our homes from monsters and zombies with some of the greatest men and women to ever grace the Volcano's shadow? Now...some will grumble I am lawless and loud. I say, FRACK YOU, you little dress-maker. I AM a blood drinking beast who LIVES to make living things die. I did it in the past lawlessly. Now I do it by the book. Whenever I stab a monster in the face, I know that it will never eat a Darkan again. I do not do it for gold, or in hopes to be promoted. I do it because I love to. And that love for my work has gotten me here... I don't want to be a Duke. I don't care to be a Count. I don't even wish to lower myself by being called "human". My way is that of an animal. And if one more fracken RICH, LAZY, PEN PUSHING punk calls me a savage for that again, I just might have to be tossed into the Volcano for eating that sissy. Cos if you think Darka lacks men like me...then you have spent too much time behind your expensive desk within your lavish home. The MAJORITY of Darka's common units are more like ME then you and your higher-then-Vatt nature. I am the kind of mindset needed to stomach stomping babies, looting cities, and slaughtering mothers and husbands... I kill monsters for fun. You kill whoever for gold. We do it all for Darka. We are all the savages of this world....(so the weak minded other kingdoms would have it written in history). And I am the monster killing dog that once ate humans before adopting Darka's way...(so you will all never allow to be erased from my history) Severn, Baron of Bitana: While my opinion may not be the most exciting it is likely the most common which is why I am passing it on to you. While the appointment is surprising it is of little cause for concern. The homeguard has functioned admirably without having a specific army dedicated to it so such little work wil be required on Vatticus's part that his appointment should not affect Darka the slightest bit, once people stop arguing over it. Fade, Knight of Azzal: Appointing Vatticus as a Marshal of an entire army would be the equivilent of giving an entire troop of elite infantry to a tempermental seven year old.
