Veritas Vincit/Political Beliefs

The following explains the beliefs of the Veritas when it comes to political matters.

The Core Princples of the leadership of the Church

The following rules are to be followed by all leadership of the church.

• No one in the church leadership shall use the church to gain political power, or try to gain political power for the church.
• The leadership will not attempt to use the church to sway its followers to gain a political advantage, or to hurt a political opponent.
• The Leadership will not attempt to use the power of the church to influence the decisions of a realm.

The Duties of its members

The Veritas believe that a member's spiritual duties and realm duties can co exist as long as the realm has not fallen sway to an evil god. As such each member of the religion is free to make their own choices as long as they do not violate the core beliefs and principles of the Veritas, or purposely cause harm to the church. Though the church as an organization will stay out of matters of realm as much as possible, it encourages all members to be active and loyal members to their realms.

Political Influence and Power

The Veritas believe that a religion should try and remain political neutral when it comes to matter of state. A church that attempts to gain political power will ultimately become corrupt, using that power to gain followers instead of sharing the truth. And followers converted in such a way have no respect for their belief and will in the end try and destroy the religion. As such the Veritas remain neutral when it comes to political matters, instead leaving the judgment to their individual followers.

The only time the Veritas will try and interfere with a realm is when it has become apparent that a realm has fallen under the sway of an evil god. Even then the Veritas will focus on helping the realm spiritually, knowing that if the evil god's sway is broken, it looses all power.

The Church and War

Matters of wars between realms is no concern of the Veritas, unless one of the realms is being led or controlled by an evil god. As such the Veritas Vincit as a church will not take active involvement in wars unless it is determined that one of the realms are under control of an evil god. If such a determination is made then the Veritas will make every effort to oppose the evil realm, including helping any realms waring against it.
