Roleplay from Monterys Velaryon
Monterys stretched his hands like an albatross from the bow of the Sunchaser. It has been too many moons since he let the salty air fill him and looked at the cerulean beauty of the open seas. His soul was now dancing and he was happy like a little child. “Onward, breaking the waves!” He shouted at the crew as the ship surged forward and crushed the restless seas.

The allure of the ocean left him completely mesmerized as he ignored several alerts from the crew on the approaching storm. Little by little, the ship found herself wrongly positioned against the change of weather. “My Lord, the wind is rising and the sky is flashing. Soon there’ll be a storm upon us. Those cliffs looks nasty and docking them is impossible. Let’s try and find a good place to anchor her. Should we turn the ship around?” “A few minutes more, captain. I have been stuck in those black mountains for so long and I have missed all of this. The wind, the colors, the scent, the open horizon. The sea, my one and only mistress, let me enjoy this for a bit more.”

Then suddenly, the sky let out a horrible screech as the lightning flash burned from above like the hammer of god from the heavens. One of the greatest of storms he ever saw was dangerously nearing by and he knew that his choices were simple and few - either try to run through it or get crashed on the cliffs. Monterys grimaced as indecisiveness overwhelmed him. His thoughts turned to Gheric and to Darfix and then back to the pending storm. “All sails up. Full forward into the eye of the storm. Brace yourselves for impact, we’re going full speed into this thing. It is the only way.”

The wind picked up as the Sunchaser pierced through the overbearing waves amidst the flashing sky. And then it hit her - a terrible tidal wave that almost broke the ship in two, throwing many of the crew overboard, and the Sunchaser barely emerged from the sea’s dark embrace once again. Battered and damaged, she struggled forward to try and beat the beast that challenged her on this day. Monterys tied himself to the main mast and turned to the Tidemother to deliver him from the darkness ahead.

Hours later, his mind slipped out of conscience and darkness covered him. The Sunchaser continued to float further and further up north, leaving the Channel of Gelene and Zenith Coast behind her and into the unknown.
