The Man

Vatticus was born to a wealthy merchant family on Vashmere land within Sother. He was born the first of three brothers (now all dead), and is by far the worst tempered of all the Vashmerians. Raised to be his father's right-hand man, and used in family murders well before puberty, vatticus is no stranger to dark and strange deeds that would make even the most devilish of mortals blush.

Standing at an amazing 8ft3, with wide shoulders and a square head, Vatticus is a sight to behold. His voice is deeper then any ocean, booming in its tone, and he is often heard delivering a horrible laughter that can travel miles across open ground. His eyes have been described as “bloodcurdling” by some, deeply set into his thick brow and so dark they seem black in all but the brightest of light. His lumbering size and blockish head give him the look of a cross between an oger and a man (indeed many have made the mistake of thinking him a monster on first glance). Twice the size of normal men, Vatticus and his violent desires are an awful mix when added to his endless strength. He is often discribed as a mindless, evil giant with the voice of a thundering devil, but to those who know him well, he is discribed as a brooding soul who acts the part of a fool to hide his deeper side of personality.

His anger

Vatt's biggest weakness is his rage. The more he is poked the worse he becomes. His mouth and temper are bigger then all the castles in Atamara and when fully unleashed he has little hope of controling them. Though his mouth can be seen as humorus when used to sting his enemies, his guiltless nature and limitless ability to be foul makes more then just a simple jester. Vatticus has delivered chaos onto realms with nothing more then his mouth and a handful of insults pointed towards the Noble class. when confronted with superiors he may not like or respect, Vatt wastes no time in slandering and accosting them with skillfully crafted banter designed to bring rage out of the most controled men. A master of bringing men to his level, Vatticus usually dosn't know when to stop once he gets going.

The Blackest Cult

Vatt's involvment with The Blackest Cult has earned him many enemies in Atamara. Many realms seek Vatt's head for both the crimes of this cult and crimes commited by Vatt openly in the name of the cult. Vatt's actual standing in the cult is unknown to the world; Some say he is a very active member in the cult's creation and leadership, while others say the cult has no leaders and Vatt is a simple pawn of the order. Alls that is known for sure is that Vatticus has preached The Blackest Word in many realms before his stay in Darka, but since joining the Mercenary realm he has not made public disturbances in the name of the cult again. There are still those who say Vatticus is still serving the The Blackest Cult and its goals to bring about the end of the mortal world, but as far as the public can see, Vatticus has kept his cult life more secret since joining Darka's Nobility.

Birth

At birth, the story of Vatticus (often called Vatt) became murky with intrigue and whispered rumor. Born a twin to another brother (Tyranus Rex Vashmere) Vatt was the only child to survive the delivery. Tyranus, born stiff and still, had died in the womb with marks around his chest and neck. The local doctors had determined the cause of death to be due to being tangled in the mother’s cord. Vatt has been quoted saying “It was no cord that strangled my brother in the womb, it was me." Vatt's mother (Lady Yesenia Vashmere) was devastated by the loss of one of her twins and secretly blamed baby Vatticus. In result, she never gave Vatt the love she shared with her other two sons later on .

Youth.

Vatticus had taken his first life at age eight; a peasant boy of age eleven that was pitted agaisnt Vatt in a backyard family test. After ripping the boy's neck from the bone, his father had showered vatt with attention and pride, making him his "best son". Vatt was fully trained to use a sword by the age of 12, and had entered battle officially leading units by age 15. During these years Vatt learned much about tactics and weapons- earning much respect as a personal servant to the Vashmerian house. His father often trusted him with secret missions for the family; murders, thieft, spy work and various other disgusting acts that the father needed done all to often. By age 18, reports of rape, murder, tourture and disgrace started pouring from Local settlements around the Vashmere estate. Vatt had been accused of waging attacks on innocent farmers, merchants and small villages with his friends who acted as his personal squad of goons. The local government ignored these reports for years until reports of Vatt's cannibalism started flooding the desks of local law officals. This lead to Vatticus being brought to trial in the lands of Brooksheild in front of an elected judge. The trial (and large criminal donations of vashmere gold from vatt's father) proved Vatt innocent on all charges. The judge was found murdered the following week with his tongue and eyes removed. It was at this time that vatt's father had decided to send his son to Atamara through a warmhole discovered by the Dhargoolian Mages of Wargore.

Atamara

By age 20, Vatt’s father had lost almost all his wealth and pull within Sother. The family’s gold had come close to running dry and all trade between Brooksheild and other wealthy families of Sother were coming to a halt swiftly. Lord Victor Von, in a moment of panic, had sent his three surviving sons on a quest.

“To go forth to a new alien world and locate other Kingdoms where we can begin anew, rebuild the Vashmere wealth at all costs and of course, inslave the new world known as Battlemaster.”

Vatt decided to travel to the East Islands (with his hostage and slave-scribe Elfabah) in search of a Kingdom that would help in his quest, but before getting there he received word that his young brother (Victor Von the 3rd) was raising eyebrows and rabble in a realm called “Abington”. His young and girlish brother Victor was reported to be saying he was now a warrior and a Noble Knight under the Vashmerian name. Vatt was both insulted and angered to hear his brother, a self proclaimed pacifist, and a failure in his father's eyes, was going around acting like he was anything more then a foppish Fancy Lad. Interested in his brother’s insane acts, Vatt decided to travel there to find out for himself what had made his dress-making brother so brave in the recent days.

Abington

When arriving in Abington, Vatt learned that his brother had sworn to “Sir Gerd” as his liege and patron, as well as adopted the title of “Knight of Sudfern”. Vatt was amused to also find his brother was slain in a legal duel from a fellow Knight of Abington just days prior to his arrival. The duel was over “words of honor”. Vatticus noted that the winner of the duel was a prized fighter, a sword master with many years under his belt. The Noble who had killed Vatt's 17 year old pacifist brother, who never lifted a sword before the day of his death, was being hailed a hero for "killing the annoying boy who didn;t stop talking of ideas of peace". Vatt also noted that the law of Abington allowed this slaughtering of a child and did nothing to punish the winner of the duel who used sly words and bully-like tactics to force the young vashmerian to feeling that if he didnt duel to defend his honor, he was not a real knight or a man at all. After learning that Abington was a place that did not imprison or punish such acts as “calling duels on children” or “Slaying the naïve” Vatt finally decided that Abington was a great place to stay.

The Maddness of Abington

After burying his brother, Vatt began his travels within Abington as a Knight of Sudfern, replacing his brother’s duty to the realm and standing in for the Vashmere name. During his travels in Stonevill , Vatt was rumored to be seen cuasing much chaos along the way. Local reports said he was becoming infamous fast with his "crazyness" in each town he visited; punching old ladies, stealing from passing merchants and using streets as public bathrooms. Soon all of Abington was asking for Vatt's banishment. From the Nobles within the kingdom to those on the frontlines of the war agaisnt Redspan, the entire Noble class seemed to get tired of Vatt's tomfoolery very quickly. One Noble (the direct birth son of Lord Drago, first king of Abington) reported the following to the public-

Hmmmmm so that is the crazy man I have been hearing so much about. And now not only is he claiming to be famous, now he claims to be immortal too. I shall stay far away from that one lest the demons that obvioulsy inhabit his brain decide to jump out when I am forced to behead him and then they jump into mine.

These sorts of reports eventually lead to the entire realm bickering and losing sight of the war. More Nobles now faught eachother over the issue of Vatticus then the actual war. Vatticus used his mouth in a psychological war to help build a domestic chaos within all of Abington. By time vatt had done his magic, Nobles were busy questioning the worth of thier Judge and King (A bitter debate between the two led to a calling for a duel to the death by the Judge 'Gauihu of the Olik Family).

The streets were on fire with rumor, words of demons, witchcraft, inner kingdom duels between King and Law, Nobles losing all control. Till this day, few Nobles are able to clearly see what happend in Abington during those days. An entire kingdom of civil natures and good breeding had turned into a pit of vipers hungry for each other's blood in just under a week's time. One Noble called these trying times "the coming of the Gale Force Winds", others simply screamed for peace over the sounds of Nobles fighting eachother.

Meeting Savish and being banished

Eventually Vatt met face to face with the Arch Priest Gauihu. Vatt, normally afraid of no mortal, was terrofied at the sight of this man, saying he was a the host-shell of the Sother devil "Savish". Seeing Vatt's words are total madness, Gauihu spared his life and banished him to the outside world allowing the man to leave since he was simply "crazy" and no real threat to Abington. Allowing Vatticus to escape execution was perhaps Lord gauihu's worst mistake in his long life of making them.

CARELIA:

Vatt's next traveled to the realm of Careila. There he was up to his normal acts of comic chaos and acts of disturbing the public . Eventually Vatticus used his "protest option" to protest the King for being "too attractive" The harmless joke resulted in Vatt's banishment and him having to leave. But before he left he was sure to insult the fallen heros of the land and sent his unit of 8 men marching agaisnt the entire Carelian army stationed in Skalk. Over 1000 men attacked Vatt's and his small unit (the unit died horribly). Vatt survived to escape to the Cagilan Empire, but not before bragging that his 8 men killed one soilder in Carelia's forces, declaring that a victory over Carelia. Vatticus kicked a puppy and killed a few farmers on his way out of the realm, saying; "Carelia is too soft to harbor a man of my magnitude." That was Vatt's second banishment in Atamara.

Cagilan Empire

Vatt's stay in Cagilan Empire resulted in the kingdom hunting his head as he ran for the boarder under the title of a banished rogue. The Kingdom was dragged into a disgusting display of confusion and chaos as five others arrived newly in Atamara from the alien world of Sother. The newcomers claimed to have known Vatt prior to his adventures in Atamara and openly spoke of the mission of The Blackest Cult

The group called him a brother of thier faction and all of them seemed to have fantasies of being possessed by demons, gods or devils of darkness. The group was quickly becoming very popular with some Nobles, and less popular with the Grand Justicar Strider. The Prime Minister publically announced on a sunday that the group's right to free speach was protected by the laws of CE, but the following day this right was removed when they spoke openly about chaos and the loves of evil. The group left with a smile as they crossed the boarder into Talerium.

During his stay in the Cagilan Empire Vatticus met Lady Morrigan who he swore as his liege. The two seemed to make friendly connection in the face of the realm that screamed for Vatt's death. Rumor of romantic gestures between the two spread, but as far as anyone knows for sure, vatt has never been with a willing woman within the realms of Atamara.

Talerium

Vatt's stay in Talerium was filled with sand, heat, camels and more sand. Vatt arrived to Talerium with no intentions of staying. Calling the place a "Cat's litter-box", his disgust for the camel worshiping people was very much noticed in his public speaches and messages to the noble class. The first day of his stay resulted in Nobles both insulting and welcomeing him alike; some had heard of the infamous trouble maker and couldn't wait for the boring lands of sand to become heated with what chaos they heard came along with this Vatticus Vashmere.

His stay lasted two weeks and resulted in nothing but bordom, sand and bickering. The Prime Minister gave strict rule in favor of free speach (A thing the people of Talerium were most proud of). This free speach lead a handful of Nobles to use it to freely insult Vatticus as they saw fun and fit. The Nobles slandered Vatt's family by name and directly called for a world wide slaughter of his blood line. They called him a coward and a fool, one dubbed him the Jester and another called him a worm. Vatt's tongue, by no means civil at this time became a comic playground of lude insults and abusive banter. By now the land was being hailed by Vatt as a country of camel-humping-bumpkins and low cultured swine. The insults ranged from funny to disgusting and often a mix of both.

  • Two guys sitting in a large open bar are talking. One says to the other, "Hey, this bar is huge! So much room! But it smells like urin and sweat, and too many drunks come in and out all day never paying! Whats this bar called?"

the other noble retorted: "Its not a bar, it's Crimson's MOTHER!

  • This land is a toilet! And since this sand box has no water, you must all be DRY POOP!
  • You wiggle when I make you wiggle, you talk and say what I when and what I want. I ram my fist in your arse to command you! By definition, you are a puppet!
  • Hey! I just punched a camel in the FACE!

The insults earned him a ban less then four hours later. When asked where the free speach went, he was returned with "Insulting a Noble is unbecoming and not protected under law" On the way marching out, he reported killing a peasent girl and eating her. His words were: "The stupid whore actually thought I really wanted to pet her camel" From there Vatt butchered the girl and sent a part of her to every noble of the realm with a message asking each man and women of the realm to join him in eating human flesh. A handful of nobles actually accepted the offer, the rest were disgusted to the point of blind rage. His head was publically asked for as he left laughing for Darka.

Darka

In Darka, Vatt found the realm both respectable and worthy of his nature. The land made war for gold and honored killing under contract. His desires to eat humans and monsters alike has caused him some trouble in Darka at first. but after swearing to never eat human flesh while under the Darkan banner, vatt was quickly adopted into the Darkan Noble class. Over a private dinner with the King, Vatticus was grantedprotection from a;; realms in Atamara who seek to remove his head for his past crimes. By allowing Vatticus a position in the Homeguard, Vatt would not have to venture from Darka's soil, insuring his safe keeping within the realm's boarders while he hunted monsters and undead. Vatt spent his first year in Darka serving with pleasure; drinking, killing, and looking for inflitrators, spies and underground filth. He was very pleased with his new home and found it to be within the graces of The Blackest Cult's philosophies of feeding the human heart all of its darkest desires. For that one reason Vatt has never challenged or insulted the realm's law or Crown.

His Liege

Vatticus soon took Lavigna (Arch Priestess of Darka) as his liege. The two have grown very close and are often seen in secret talks of unknow subjects that deal with darker ways of mortal life. Vatticus has been called many times "Lavigna's favorite Knight" and the two seem to have a bond that boarders on the supernatrual. Vatticus forced the title on himself of being Lavigna's "Black Dog", a form of knight that never questions morality or justification of an order. No matter what she asks of him, he will perform the deed. No matter how low or vile her wishes, vatt would be there to obey them. Though Lavigna has never asked anything seriously evil of her pet, she is well aware of his abilities and desires to serve her. She knows without a doubt that Vatticus hails her as his personal master, and he would walk into any hell for her, and do it laughing.

Vatticus as Marshal

After serving for a year in Darka, Vatticus earned the title of “The monster slayer”. While loyal Darkans battled human enemies across the lands, the Vashmerian was always found hunting down monsters and undead that spawned and spread throughout Darka. Savagly slaughtering them one by one, his collection of inhuman heads began to grow. Some laughed at his actions, seeing him as a pet that simply chased mice for the realm, while others noticed and credited him as a man who not only could think like a monster, but also seemed to fight like one as well. It soon became apparent to Arch Priest Lavigna that Vatticus had a talent for killing in the most inhumane and painful of ways. Seeing his worth in "monster-slaying", she honored him with the title of “Marshal of Homeguard”. Many protested the choice, seeing the savage as untrustworthy and overly dangerous. Those who disagreed could only imagine what crimes a man like this would commit with an army under his command. His promotion made world news in many papers, and was debated across Atamara by rulers, Judges, Churches, and common folk alike. On the day of earning his title, not a single realm in all of Atamara was silent on the matter.

The months raged on with continuous raids from both living monsters and undead abominations. Vatticus was seen in almost ever attack, along with his unit “The Black Dogs”. His prowess as a Marshal in question, the hulking madman was unorthodox in his methods as a leader. He refused to give orders, wear any uniform, or live in any home better then a camp or rented room in the poor section of Azzal. He refused his men the right to salute him and gave them free reign to question, argue or fight with him with no punishment. He gave speeches on the fact that he was "Darka’s Black Dog", a trained animal who saw himself no better then any other animal. He never wore or displayed any medals or show of rank on his body. For all intent and purpose he treated all men the same, and demanded all men to see him not as their Marshal, but their loyal comrade. Soon Vatticus earned the support of many Nobles and officials of the land. His undying efforts to seek out and destroy inhuman threats was unmistaken and applauded by many. Few questioned his loyalty from then on.

Marshal of Eight Fingers

Eventually the Marshal cut two of his fingers from his left hand and tied them to his neck. Rumor has it that he wears them to remember advice given to him by his Liege and Master, Arch Priest Lavigna. He wears the severed digits along with a Black Diamond given to him by the Lavigna at a religious ceremony that celebrated the recent looting and raping of the Goat Worshipers in Redspan. The Diamond was gifted to the Marshal and now rests forever around his neck as a symbol of his loyalty to his friend, Law Mother and master, Lavigna.
