Roleplay from Lina and Tomaas:
Standing by his horse as the morning sun dances across the bay Tomaas checks his bag one last time.

"Leaving so soon my friend?" askes Lina from the door, "You'll miss the celebrations...."

"I doubt there will be all that much celibrating," he responds without turning around.

"You're probably right, but still, we have not spoken in so long, not since...."

"...I banned you for witchcraft and spying for Avamar," he finishes.

"You had no choice Tomaas, I've always known that."

"...."

Casting around for something , anything to break the silence she says, "You fought bravely..."

"I fought desperatly, out of fear," he responds, and then pausing for a moment he eventually continues, "You are still too young to unerstand Lina but men do not do great things because they are brave. That is how stories are written, but true courage comes only after fear."

"B-But you came...."

"Yes, because I knew you would try to face him alone. You were no match for him; can you not see how easily he defeated you? Were it not for the distraction of the Avamarians he would have killed you, and even then only that strange creature saved you!" shouting the last words Tomaas finally turned around.

Seemingly shrinking before his harsh words and dropping her eyes Lina wisphered, "My brother..."

".... is a full grown man, a knight of the realm, and a king if the texts are true; and even he would not have come alone!" glaring down at Lina for once, Tomaas slowly calms himself.

Wit a great sigh he continued in a kindlyh voice while raising her head, "That said I'm sure your brother is proud of you, because I know I am."

Eyes shining she smiles, "Jerk..."

"Brat," he retorts.

Shaking herself Lina stands strait once more while Tomaas turns back to his mount.

"So," he starts more conversationally, "How did you know he was a golem?"

"His lack of magic..."

"Lack?"

Lina nods, "Once you confronted him I expected all sorts of enchantments to be thrown around, but besides using his gift he mostly tried to fight."

"Golems can't use magic?"|

"It's complicated but not easily."

"And so you became suspicious."

Lina nodded and after a time says, "I feel sorry for that woman, Julia; to have fallen in love with a monster," Lina shakes her head, "it is terrible."

"A sad turn of events indeed, but as the bars often say, tis better to have loved and lost..."

Tomaas trailed off under Lina's raised eyebrow.

Clearing his throat he continued, "Well anyway.. Your brother was just like him you know, and he changed, who says Philippe couldn't?"

Turning to look aross the river Lina refused to answer until eventually Tomaas let it drop.

"So what will you do now?" she asks still watching the waves.

Tomaas shrugs, "Return to Fontan before they notice I'm gone I guess, else I will doubtlessly be banned for killing an Avamarian or some such nonsense. Actually it pains me to see how far they have fallen and as things continue to worsen it makes me wonder if I should leave..... On a happier note, I was also thinking that the Academy of Knowledge is in need of a new guild master..."

"You would be perfect Tomaas! Your curiosity has alays longed for such a chance!"

Bowing his head and smiling Tomaas asks, "And you?"

"I really don't know.... I was thinking of stopping in at the Unti House, to let my family know I'm alright."

"Won't they try to send you home?"

"I'll not go!" she insists, "Besides, Lord Ookee Ookee and I must still fight at least one last time."

Laughing Tomaas swings himself into the saddle, "I know this is futile but, try to stay out of trouble for once, I've had enough heroics for one life-time."

"And you visit me some times."

"Me? You're the one who can appear out of thin air! It must be your tallent...."

"....No," she wisphers, "My talent is not so great as that..."

Tomaas sits stunned, never before had Lina offered even a hint to her gift.

Redening nicely Lina asks, "Take my hat off."

Puzzled Tomaas opens his mouth to ask why but then closes it realizing how silly such questions are when he was with Lina. Reaching out Tomaas plucks the feathered cap from her head, or at least he tried to. Despite his steady efforts the hat refused to budge.

Finally giving up he studied her with an amused expression as she easily removed the hat.

"The imovable hat," he muses, "Save by your hand of course."

Nodding she replaces the cap witha certain amount of sheepishness.

"Just hats?"

"So far..."

Bowing his head he replies, "Hardly a tallent to be ashamed of; many would love for their headgear to remain in place regardless of their activities."

Blushing slightly she adjusts her hat.

Pulling the reigns Tomaas turns his mount around to face the Montijo road and says with a smile, "Until next time Little Shadow?"

"Until next time my friend."

Roleplay from Eilonwy
Eilonwy walks back to her Judge's quarters after the battle with Philippe. It was done. Ended. As was everything she knew. Wiping grime from her face, she nodded to the remaining guards at the entrance to the building where she and the other government officials had their quarters, not daring to say a word for fear of the anguish she would hear in her voice. She would wait until she got to her bedroom, just a few more steps. . . .

"Khamil, bring me paper and a pen, I have a letter to write." she managed to squeak out to her manservent, managing to keep her voice somewhat in line, even if it went up and down a little more than she would have liked.

"Yes, m'lady. Is m'lady alright? Should I request Camia prepare a bath for you?"

"I'm fine, Khamil, but yes, ask her to get me a bath. Letter first."

After a moment, she sat down at her desk with paper and pen in front of her, and began to write.

My friends, with the loss of Philip, and his transformation to Philippe, which I now am forced to admit is reality, and not some dark twisted dream, I am somewhat at a loss. The man who showed me the Virtues is shown to be an evil most foul, and I am no longer sure of myself. Effective at once, I resign as Judge, for I believe I no longer have the conviction nor the clarity to see and do Justice.

She looked at the letter. "Khamil, I need this sent out to the whole realm as soon as . . . as soon as you can. Imp . . . important, business."

She slumped, losing what little energy she had left after the fight. When Khamil pulled the paper out from under her sleeping head, it was stained with tears.

Roleplay from Tasadar
"What is going on?" and "What happened to Phillipe I thought I could fight him? I am more confused then ever". Seeing an opportunity he stealthily slid into a corner near the back of the room. "Hopefully I can hide here until I can straighten things out."

But what happened next is another story.

And so Philippe was exposed and slain by the brave people of Avamar, saving both themselves and a people they’d never met from dark dreams, and evil intentions. Thus the hidden reign of Philippe d’Montnab; Black Knight; and Betrayer; came to an end in this year, four of the Age of Strife, long may he remain in the abyss.
