Tierney Family
The First House
Only recently, with the birth of their eldest son has the ruling family of HouseTierney decided to join the Chaos Temple Duchy. There was much suprise when the ruler of the house accepted allegiance to the Baroness of Lundel Solaria Kaltenthal. Before that House Tierney was happy with controlling their side of the island of Lundel. Many suspect that the head of House Tierney is planning on carving out a name for his family in an attempt to see his son as Emperor. This is purely conjecture though, mainly spoken since this move it has gone against the grain of what defined the family for so many generations. Having built up monolithic fortifications into the foothills of the volcano dominating the center of the island, the Tierney clan has for at least two hundred years fended off would be conquerers with ease. When invaders tried to come in from sea, they learned that the defenses there wear no less forgiving. The infantry men of House Tierney are some of finest in the world. Some people believe it is due to the trials men must face upon entering manhood. No one from outside know what these trials consist of but everybody agrees on one thing. They are fierce. For many years the men of Tierney's lands have been sought out for their scouting and fighting abilities. It is said that the young lord SAMMA'EL intends to make his personal band The Black Hand into the best fighting force in all of Lundel, which he says with a smug grin, implying that with that he will have created the best military unit in the world.
The second House
The ruler of the High Seat of House Tierney Ravictus kept small council with his year younger brother Darrius. Darrius has always steadfastly supported his older brother and went so far as to name his first son-Ravictus after him. There has been much speculation as to what the plans of second house Tierney at the moment. Darrius' sons choice to go and swear fealty at The Chaos Temple instead of standing along side his cousin Sama'El, has caused quite the stir in the region.
The Rivalry
Sama'El and Little Ravictus (called Vic by friends and family) grew up together as close as brothers. Sama'El grew up always trying to beat any record his older cousin set. In all manner of sports and games did they master. Sama'El has beaten several of Vic's records, including the record of the amount of men he could face at once; 10. Anytime Sama'El would break a record Vic made sure to return and let Sama'El know who was dominant by then beating Sama'El's record. The only record that Sama'El currently has is the 10 man on 1 record. Vic still appears to only handle 9. It was witnessed him trying 10 two different times. Both times failing. Afterwards there was house gossip that he purposely threw the matches so as to not snuff all pride from his cousin.
Despite the fact that many would understand Vic despising his cousin for being born and ascending to the role of Heir apparent High Seat of House Tierney, Vic never acted as if it was perfectly fine for it to be so. He like his father before him, always supported his superior. There has been no little speculations as to the reasons he went to swear fealty to Lord Joe at Chaos Temple.
