Thrice-Blessed Shield of the Duck

I write this note to tell the owner of this shield its legend. I be bathing in the slough outside the village of Odenir. I be relaxing and dreaming of gold and things us common folk dream. When out of nowhere I was surround by a horde of uglies. One big ugly come at me and when I felled him wit me skilled hands he dropped this shield here. Thinking it were pretty nothing more I harvested the beasts and put the shield aside. When I turned around I couldn't believe my bloody eyes. This darned duck be relieving himself the unholy kind on me shield! I scared that bugger off and no sooner did I look away and another duck be back doing it's thing on my shield. I killed that one and set to cooking my duck when it so happened another duck came out of the wood and sat on my shield. One thing be for sure with this shield you will never go hungry in the woods...them ducks be drawn to it!
