Double Hunts: Military Actions in West and North

Following the mass up of the army in Greatbridge, General Lycastus has revealed his intention that the army shall be divided into two, one to the west and the other head for the north. The plan was kept as a highly secretive one, and details are sketchy even until now, but it is generally believed that the targeted regions are northeast Perdan, in response to the constant crys for helps from Pontifex Sorcha of Ibladesh, and the north Oligarchian city of Ashforth, which is poorly defended and shall be easily conquered under the coalition forces of Sirion and Fontan.

UPDATE: News has been confirmed that the first wave of the forces which embarked towards the west earlier have done well on their looting business in Westmoor and Troyes, along with a successful demolition of a level two fortification down to level one in Bescanon. However reports have shown that Ubentians will likely intervene with their army once again, by reinforcing the Perdan defending troops, and the General has asked the forces in Bescanon to stay alert. The second wave is now stationing in the wartorn region of Oberndorf and waiting for further orders. The Fontanese Digest would like to bid our brave warriors good luck, and hope all our noble kinghts return home with glory victories at hands.

A Star Fallen: East Continent Mourned the Death of King Eleran of Yssaria

East Continent on 2005.11.16

Shocking words spread throughout the whole continent that Eleran the Count, reverend and adored King of Yssaria since its earliest day of foundation, was slain on the battlefield in Winkamus 22nd night. Government officials of Yssaria later confirmed this sorrowful news to the Fontanese Digest, sobbing that King Eleran received a poisoned arrow on his neck from Eagles Reach, the awesome High Marshal of Caligus, and failed to escape the hands of the Fates this time. The Caligan Marshal was reported to be seriously wounded later by Edvard the Deacon, brother of Eleran, who was enraged by the scene and managed to throw the Marshal over a high cliff with bare arms. Friends and foes all over the continent, including Queen Gwynyth of Caligus and Grand Justiciar Faragorn of Ubent, condoled the heroic death of the great leader. According to the dying words of Eleran, the realm of Yssaria shall be entrusted to High Marshal Prandur, who was elected later to the throne with a majority in votes. The exact time of the King's state funeral in Yssarian capital is still pending, but expected to be held soon. The Fontanese Digest wishes King Eleran a tranquil path to the Realm of Passed Heros, and hopes Yssaria lives long and prosper under the reign of the new King.

"There aren't many Kings that choose the path of a hero. I'm proud to have served under Eleran." - Sir Adran, Noble of Yssaria

"In the fever of fight we forget how fragile life is. The death is always a surprise. In the long and heavy war, the opponent rised in our eyes to the shape of a scary and invincible demon, but he is the same mortal human, suffering the pain or enjoying the delights with the same senses. We are equal in front of the Death. Rest in peace Lord Eleran the Count, my most honourable opponent." - Gwynyth, Queen of Caligus

"...Today is a sad day, but we turn another leaf in the life of Yssaria, one great leader is gone only to be replaced by the man chosen by his greatness. Raise your heads Yssarians. Our king has left this life, our new king is in your presence. Raise your swords to our new king. To Prandur!!!!" - Achilles, Royal Treasurer of Yssaria

"All doughnuts in Isadril will use black frosting for a month in honour of our late King Eleran." - Rackir, Duke of Isadril

UPDATE: The King's funeral was held in the Palace Gardens of Isadril on the sunset of 27th. The ceremony was conducted by Natasha, Arch Priestess of Yssaria, and the eulogy was given by Prandur, the new King of Yssaria. After the solemnities, the pyre was lit and the Hero King's mortal body vanished into the red flame, with his soul soaring to the heavenly heaven accompanied by the white smoke.

Dies Irae: Rancagua Capital A Fire Sea

Allied forces of Sirion, Old Rancagua and Fontan broke through the level six fortifications around the city of Kazakh with superior combat strength and engaged in a close range street battle with Rancagua defending forces on 26th night. The tottering regime's capital soon devoured by a fierce raving fire under the night sky. The operation was a highly secretive one, with Ashforth as the false target until the second wave was ordered to be moved into Gadlock. Though the destruction of Rancagua is almost certain by now to be a matter of time only, it refused any peace offers and vowed to fight until the very end. In the fear that the regime might become a stumbling block, Perdan has announced a statement in which will allow itself to withdraw from the mess when necessary. First deserted by its believers and now betrayed by its ally, the Church of Rancagua has already been destined.

UPDATE: News from an anonymous source has indicated that Excalibur, the Pontifex of Rancagua, was seen in the port of Kazakh, boarding a ship to the Far East before the dawn of 29th. With the abscondence of its ruler, the regime's path to its end is further shortened.

Greatbridge Snatched: A Tactical Sacrifice

The region of Greatbridge was reclaimed by Oligarch, taking the opportunity while the army of Fontan is concentrating on its mission of foreign assistance. "Greatbridge was just barely starting to turn our way," said Judge Amanda. "It is disappointing to see all that work going to waste." However the Council takes this event as a tactical sacrifice which is necessary for a strategic victory, and has promised to retake the region once the situation allows. The Oligarchians will not have much time left to enjoy the view of Greatbridge if they naively believe otherwise.

Incidental: Rebellion in Perdan

Reports have shown that a rebellion has broken out in Perdan on 29th night. Speculations are that the whole event seems to be triggered by a single troopleader, who has some grudges with other nobles of Perdan in its recent ruler election.

UPDATE: A rebellion lacked any real support, the sole participant, namely the initiator himself, was forced to flee out of the Perdan capital from the very first, running for his own life. He was captured later in a small village near Perdan's northern border though, and was executed publicly in Partora soon afterwards. Newest information shows that the whole event has nothing to do with Perdan's ruler election, neither have any internal problems existed in Perdan.
