Aenilian Infiltrator, nabbed!

April 30, 2006- Well, he has caused us much grief! He has attempted to assassinate important Ethialan Nobles, burned important food supplies in the regions of Arempos and Lantzas, as well as murdered members of the militia guard left to defend the people, and now, in his most recent muderous act against Ethiala, he has been seen in time and caught red-headed!

Now, according to the agreements laid down by the enforcers of Law in both realms, with 3 strikes, the victim realm is permitted to perform more lasting punishment upon the offender. Catch him once, let him go, catch him twice, ban him, catch him thrice, well its off to the Colonies for you my good fellow! I hope Gregonius enjoys his soujourn amongst the Assassins! I hear the Dark Citadel is quite nice this time of year!

Ornaz falls to Ethiala

April 30, 2006- After 5 gruelling days of, repeated Taith Aenilian assaults, and persuasion of the populace, Ornaz has finally given in and hailed the government of Ethiala as their new Lords. The people of Ornaz, still loyal to their heretic leader Arella, and Dictator Orphen, reluctantly delivered a letter to the Senate of Ethiala at nightfall of the 5th day, stating their capitulation to our government and, although the local leaders immediately swore fealty to King Osric, they claimed that they would never swear allegiance to a Lord of Ethiala, as long as the Aenilians laid a claim.

However, although an Ethialan region, Taith Aenil have still maintained a claim upon the people of Ornaz, and the wooded hills and valleys, thus we shall have to continue on, in the hopes that a peace can quickly be found, for the good of the people, and of the realms involved.

War!

April 29, 2006- Earlier today, in what seems to be a response to Svunnetland's hostility toward the Ethiala and her course of action against Aenilian interferance and their leader Orphen's arrogance, the nations of Lasanar and the Antoza Commonwealth, declared war upon Hoshi and her government. Little is known of the affects this will have upon the war, whether it will simply lead to a stalemate in the south, or all out conflict across the centre of the Far East, only time will tell. Currently, the Principality of Zonasa has stationed what seems to be a large portion of their army in Idapur, the Capital of Taith Aenil. Crown Prince Bleys of Zonasa has announced that the Principality will merely defend the regions of Taith Aenil without actually engaging the Ethialans in an offensive conflict. Only time will tell if they will maintain this neutrality.

In other news, the war in the north, overshadowed by the Ethiala/Aenil war, has now resulted in the loss of Sasat to Lasanar. This, coupled with the crushing defeats received from the loss of Lantzas to Ethiala and Tapaliez to Sartania, and the large battles in Saex and Orbeh must be taking a heavy toll upon the people of Arcaea and her economy. We can only hope that negotiations can soon begin to end the war in the north and bring peace to the realms of the north once more.

Orphen, Dictator of Taith Aenil?

April 27, 2006- Taith Aenil, under fire from two realms, cause? Orphen. Yet, they decide to elect him as Paladin Primus as well? What we have here, is a virtual dicatorship of the small theocracy. Currently, Orphen holds 3 of the 4 council positions. Originally the Haruspex Maximus at the time of Arella's disappearance, he was elected to Pontifex.

At this point, humbly, he relinquished his title and appointed Igna and then Xarnelf as the enforcers of the laws and high priests of the Aenil. However, when both Igna and Xarnelf disappeared for unknown reasons he has decided to take on the additional office for himself, and with the recent wounding of Helios, he allowed his Nobles to elect him as the Paladin Primus. Not so humble anymore, rather obsessed with his own power perhaps?

This action has effectively has made Orphen, Pontifex, Harupsex Maximus and Paladin Primus of Taith Aenil, virtual dictator and overlord of those Nobles he has sworn to protect. Where is Arella in these troubled times? Is she just going to stand back and watch this despot rule her realm into the ground? Surely she would make a stand and ask for a Council position, simply to regulate her "comrade" and divide the command structure.

I wonder if the Nobles of Taith Aenil know what they are getting in to? Only time will tell, but as the armies of Taith Aenil are hammered back into their strongholds of Nahad and Idapur, time will only tell if they will finally wise up and remove the arrogant fool from his theocratic throne, where he lords over them like a petty Kinglet.

Ethiala and Antoza stand firm

April 27, 2006- In the twilight, as the setting sun slipped down along the western horizon, the armies of Ethiala, Antoza and Taith Aenil met in the region of Ornaz to decide the fate of the region. However, due to a botched effort from Helios, the Paladin Primus of Taith Aenil, only 3/4 of the forces of Taith Aenil arrived to contest the region. Despite the fact that they were missing 1500 CS, it would have made no difference as the the superior numbers of the allied armies came to bear with staggering casualties on the part of Orphen and his followers. The statistics and results of the battle are as follows:

Battle in Ornaz

Taith Aenil vs. Antoza Commonwealth, Ethiala

Estimated combat strengths: 5000 CS vs. 15000 CS

Dementor (Knight of Haul) (Antoza Commonwealth) was captured by Taith Aenil forces.

Sir Helios, the Paladin Primus of Taith Aenil, Duke of Idapur, Marshal of the army of Nahad has been seriously wounded.

Amedeo, Duke of Nahad (Taith Aenil) has been wounded

Defender Victory!

An account from the perspective of his Majesty, Luan, the King of the Antoza Commonwealth is also noted: Battle Report, Ornaz

Infiltrators!

April 25, 2006- Currently, it seems that Ethiala is simply awash with Infiltrators! A total of three Nobles have been attacked in the last week alone, which is more attacks that I have seen in my entire time with Ethiala. The attacked Nobles include, Ariborn, a old and trusted Noble of the realm, Thrasymaque, a former ruler and now Duke of our founding city, and now Lancelot, our current High Marshal. Each of the Iniltrators in question have been detained, although recently the infiltrator responsible for the attack on Ariborn, Glorawarthien of Svunnetland, has made a formal apology to Ariborn from his prison cell which has repaired relations with Hoshi, Queen of the ancient realm.

The other two, Dawn and Gregonius, both of Taith Aenil, have been banned from Ethiala, never to return lest more lasting punishment be rendered unto them. Amidst this recent speight of attempted assassinations, barring Glorawarthien, it seems that Taith Aenil has sunk to the level of the infiltrators, desperate to do anything to harm Ethiala as we continue to quell their arrogance. How low can one sink in the quest to defend corruption?

Ornaz overrun!

April 24, 2006- The first steps toward ending Orphen's reign of ignorance and blatant foolishness have been taken:

Battle in Ornaz

Antoza Commonwealth, Ethiala vs. Taith Aenil

Estimated combat strengths: 16000 CS vs. 5000 CS

Arella of Taith Aenil has been wounded.

Sir Khyber, Count of Hupar (Ethiala) has been wounded.

Attacker Victory!

The battle was firmly decided in the Allied Forces favour, with our own Royal Treasurer, Kir, beginning the Hostile TO which will lead to the liberation of the local inhabitants.

The War begins...

April 23, 2006- The Armies of the Antoza Commonwealth, and the Kingdom of Ethiala have been unleashed. Last night, High Marshal Lancelot, gave the orders for the unified armies to begin their march, moving on the region of Taith Aenil, drawing first blood in what will be a campaign to pacify the arrogant Taith Aenilians and their foolish leader Orphen. Some 1500 men, with a CS of close to 20 thousand rallied in Talex, Ethiala's foundation city and ancestral home to decide upon the course of action. Today, is a great day, for today will see the beginning of war which will pave the way for Ethiala's honour to be restored, and peace to once again reign across the Far East.

Antoza sides with Ethiala!

April 22, 2006- The Antoza Commonwealth, one of the 3 greatest powers in the Far East, sided with their long time allies in Ethiala and declared war on Taith Aenil, and they meant it. Currently, the main Antozan Army, numbering some 10 to 12 thousand CS, over 700 men, under the personal command of ShaddaRim, former King of the coastal realm, and current ruler, Luan. Pleadging their steadfastness to the protection of Ethialan lands, and the destruction of those who would take from her, King Luan has taken the first steps towards a vastly stronger alliance with Ethiala, and peace in the Far East.

Ethialan Leadership under attack!

April 21, 2006- The Taith Aenilians have soiled what was left of their name, in Orphen's apparent authorisation for leading members of the Ethialan government to be attacked by his pet infiltrator Gregonius. He struck the Arch-Priest Aethelwulf first, wounding him whilst camped in my own region of Arempos. Then, he moved to Talex where he tried his luck against our royal family. Attacking Thrasymaque however, was a step too far and he was caught by the City Guard of Talex before he could even attempt his dirty deed. For these acts, Gregonius will be punished to the full extent of Ethialan law, with banishment on pain of deportation when next caught within Ethialan lands.

Rebellion in the Grand Lodge

April 21, 2006- Well, as most of you know, the Grand Lodge of Lunaria is a tiny little Theocracy at the very bottom of the Far East island. They don't have any enemies that can realy harm them, therefore they don't get much action, and thus don't get out much at all, ever. So, you have to pass the time somehow, and how bout a dynastic civil war? I seem to remember Eirik II being removed from office by his peers a couple of months ago. Yet, when Kuniyoshi, the Pontifex of the Lodge, abdicates, they vote Eirik in with 100% of the votes!? I can understand perhaps that they were not organised, and thus could not side behind one candidate, but 100%!? You really have to wonder don't you. Well, they have had their rebellion, and in bloody revolt, Brian has been declared the Despot of the Lodge, and been wounded in the process. Someone is really socking it to them huh? So, while their de-facto leader, lies uncounscious, realm control is going through the floor. Oh well, at least they got some fun out of it!

Lantzas hails new government

April 16, 2006- Today is a historic day, for this is the day that Lantzas hails their new rulers. At night fall on the 15th, local government officials met with the leaders of the army of Ethiala and signed the surrender of the region to King Osric and his Nobles. Unfortunately, due to the hostility which was required to sway the people, much work is required to restore the region back to its former glory. Thus, long time honourary Senator and trusted advisor to the crown, Jeselek, was selected by a unanimous vote of the Senate to take command of the region and tend to its people in these troubled times. His work has begun in earnest, as the people rebuild the broken homes and look forward to an uninterrupted and prosperous rule under the green and gold banner of Ethiala.

Ragnaron is gone

April 16, 2006- Some of you may recall the catastrophic events which surrounded the surprise secession of one of the ancient cities of the last remnant of the Svunnetland Empire. Approximately 2 weeks ago, a previously unknown Noble, claiming to be sent by a god of incredible brutality, seized the city of Palnasos through forgery of documents and then seceeded it from the realm. He formed the realm of Ragnaron, and practically declared war on the entire continent. However, as time wore on, it was inevitable that the under populated realm was not going to stand a chance against the massing armies of both Svunnetland and her ally, the Principality of Zonasa. It seems also, that there has been some sort of reconciliation between Hoshi, the current Queen of Svunnetland, and Feanar, the man responsible for the secession. As the city was taken back under Svunnetland's control, Feanar was permitted to return to the realm of Svunnetland and rejoin the Nobles who he had betrayed. Odd? I think so! Will report more as I hear it.

Sartania take Tapaliez

April 15, 2006- Whilst Arcaea is distracted, and taking heavy casualties, in her southern regions, Sartania has seized the opportunity to take the region in payment for the insults which they believe Yarah made against them. Hopefully, now that Yarah and Arcaea have paid the price of their arrogance, peace talks can begin. With the loss of Tapaliez to Sartania and soon Lantzas to Ethiala, and the realisation of the ineffectuality of their Taith Aenilian allies, this has been quite a costly war for Arcaea.

Arcaean Defeat!

April 15, 2006- It had to come sometime, but with such small numbers? Today, the Arcaean forces met with Ethiala's finest, along with elements of the Lasanarian army to contest the TO of their region of Lantzas. However, their leadership muddled the travel and they came in waves, facing utter defeat at the hands of the battle-hardened, dug in defenders. Many lie wounded, and some captured on the field. Gunfire the instigator of this whole affair, predictably, has refrained from joining his comrades on the field of battle.

Arella is back

April 12, 2006- Of course, I am rather biased against that heretic witch, I mean former ruler of Taith Aenil, Arella. However, I might as well report that after disappearing so suddenly she is back roaming the Far East once again. I wonder if she wants the rulership back? I know that the current (slightly mental and possessed) Pontifex, Orphen, won't give up his office without a fight. Even though he has led the realm to ruin, for once the side-effects of their war declaration against Ethiala start to come to the fore, there isn't going to be much left for him to lord over. Is there civil war coming in Taith Aenil? We can only hope....

New King in Arcaea

April 12, 2006- Well, the Arcaeans have cast their ballots and Lacolus has been elected as the new ruler of one of the oldest realms in the Far East. With only 27% of the votes though. Seems that the Arcaeans were fairly divided in their search for a new King! It also seems that Yarah wasn't too forthcoming in telling his Nobles about the real situation concerning Ethiala and Arcaea, for the new King has asked for details concerning the dispute! I mean come on! It seems that Ethiala is one of the few realms that actually keeps its Senate up-to-date with the times. Oh well, hopefully Lacolus will be more willing to repairing the relations which Yarah and his foolish Judge managed to destroy.

Hupar under attack!

April 12, 2006- Taith Aenil have invaded our southern most region of Hupar with forces numbering 2000 CS. They haven't looted, they haven't started a TO, I wonder what they are doing? Perhaps they are waiting for more troops, a portion of their army was massacred in the fruitless defence of Lantzas. Perhaps Helios has lost it along with Orphen. The Taith Aenilian leadership seems quite pathetic at the moment, I am wondering how they manage to keep the realm running!

War!

April 11, 2006- War! Taith Aenil have refused to stay out of matters which do not concern them and entered the war. Time will only tell if whether this has been a good move or a mistake. However, with both his allies pressed from internal and external pressures, Orphen might be a little alone out there....

Arcaea without a King!

April 11, 2006- Yarah has stepped down and looks to be suicidal! It is unfortunate, for he was once a mighty ruler, but now has fallen into despair, for he has become arrogant of late and refuses to keep his Nobles in line. Good luck Yarah, let us hope that the new King of Arcaea is up to the task, for he has much to do! Let's hope its not Gunfire, for that would herald the destruction of the realm, if he's that offensive when an Arch-Priest, what will he be like when he's a ruler!

Victory!

April 10, 2006- Arcaea has failed to meet the requirements of the reparations which Osric placed to force Arcaea to see reason and begin to act like a realm of Nobles once again. As nightfall descended the Main Ethialan army under the direction of Lancelot, High Marshal of Ethiala and command of Luyten and Ryft, Marshal's of Topenah and Talex respectively, occupied the region of Lantzas in fulfilment of the terms laid down by Osric 10 days previously.

Here is a report of the battle as written by Xarnelf, the Haruspex Maximus of Taith Aenil. Told from TA's perspective mind you, but it will do, I can't be bothered to come up with something myself: Battle Report, Lantzas

Tournament in Masahakhon

April 9, 2006- This promises to be a great event, although shadowed by the secession of Palnasos from Svunnetland into the realm of Ragnaron and the recent unpleasantness in the north between all of the realms which occupy the lands up here. Known Ethialans to be competing will Valion and Thrasymaque. Thrasymaque, the last tournament's joust champion, is Ethiala's greatest hope for gold and fame, he carries the hopes of us all. Good Luck Valion and Thrasymaque!

Scandal!

April 9, 2006- As some of you may or may not have heard, Arcaea has only very recently committed a heinous attrocity in the near execution of the Lady Jacqueline, a former Ethialan and the beloved of Osric, King of Ethiala. Surrounding this murderous event Osric demanded reparations in the form of 1000 gold from Yarah for his Arch-Priest's misdeeds. However, believing his request to be excessive he reduced it to 200 gold to be delivered to Topenah within 5 days and an immediate public apology from Gunfire, the Arch-Priest of Arcaea.

However the isolent fellow practically threw the laxness of the reparations in our Lord's face and has single handedly ruined all the months of hard work towards a possible alliance we worked for. He has insulted our King, our Senate, our Lords and our Nobles with his vain foolishness. It may be time for something to be done....

Secession!

April 9, 2006- Well, unfortunately this reporter does not have much to give about this issue, it seems to be a very southern Far East issue. About all I can tell you is that the ruler is not too right in the head and has practically declared war on every realm in the Far East! However, the Principality of Zonasa and the remnant of Svunnetland will probably have some strong words to say concerning the realm's existence. The Principality has already taken Tunozo from them, which makes the old Principality whole again I believe. Zhao Ziyang's fight has been realised, however he is not here to see it, will report more as the information reaches me.

The Ethialan Press!

April 9, 2006- Well, the time has come! Ethiala finally has a newspaper of her own! I grew tired of outdated accounts of the goings on in the Far East and I thought that Ethiala could use a newspaper, to tell everyone about us! So here goes...
