The Constitution states that:

  • The First Lord is a first among peers. He or she is placed there by the trust of the nobility, but in return they must respect the First Lord's decree unreservedly. The Chancellor of Royal Accounts, Arch Justiciar, and Grand Captain are considered to be on an equal footing outside of areas within their specific field.
  • The First Lord's decree's stand permanently, unless stated otherwise or are under the effect of a future decree by the same.
  • Any decree by a previous First Lord may be overturned unless one can provide the Arch Justiciar with a case for the previous decree being sustained.
  • In addition to his power to sustain the decree's of previous First Lord's, the Arch Justiciar is responsible for the codifying and enforcement of law and order in the realm amongst both peasantry and nobility. In all cases the subject's lord must be notified and given a chance to defend their subject. Enemy prisoner's do not require such a notification.
  • The Grand Captain is responsible for the military success of Taselak. They are to be beholden to the decrees of the First Lord. Through him and the election of the marshals by the nobles of their armies, he is also beholden to the nobility of Taselak. All other arms of the bureaucracy are expected to support the Grand Captain and the armies. Elections of Marshals and the Grand Captain are to be held bi-monthly unless called for early by the majority of the Council of War, the majority of the Council of Land, the First Lord, or popular dissent.
  • The Chancellor of Royal Accounts is to be elected monthly by the lords, whose finances are to be under scrutiny by the Chancellor in order to maintain the war effort. Along with the Duke of Taselak all matters financial are to be overseen by the Chancellor.
  • The Chancellor of Royal Accounts is responsible for overseeing the dispensing of funds to the military in conjunction with the lords of the realm and the Grand Captain.
  • The Duke of Taselak is to be chosen by the First Lord one week at the latest from his annointing as First Lord. The Duke of Taselak shall be responsible for the running of his duchy according to feudal law with 365 days a year of service to the crown and the war. Soldiers and gold are expected to be supplied to fulfill the needs of the war against Sandalak and Ikalak.
  • All lords are beneath the Duke of Taselak and are expected to co-operate with the Duke and the Chancellor of Royal Accounts.
  • Idleness or unsatisfactory conduct are to be punished by review with the option of immediately removing the council member or marshal in question. If the subject in question is the First Lord there must be a serious case for disorder in the realm that would be resolved only by their resignation or defenestration from their lofty rank.
  • Corruption is a crime of the highest order and to be punished by removal from their position by the First Lord and the Arch Justiciar. In the rare case that either one or both are indisposed or unaccountable then all matters are to proceed as normal until one or both can be elected to decide the guilty's fate. Further abuse of power and flaunting of royal authority during such a period of limbo is punishable by imprisonment and exile or execution.
  • The First Lord's first action should be to establish a Council of War and a Council of Land.
  • The Council of War is to contain the: Grand Captain, First Lord, marshals, vice-marshals, and any others deemed vital by the Grand Captain or First Lord.
  • The Council of Land is to contain the: Arch Justiciar, Chancellor of Royal Accounts, First Lord, Duke of Taselak, lords of regions, and any others deemed vital by the Chancellor of Royal Accounts, Arch Justiciar, Duke of Taselak, or First Lord.
  • ANY CHANGES TO THE CONSTITUTION WILL REQUIRE A REALM WIDE REFERENDUM WITH AN ABSOLUTE HALF OF THE VOTES.
