Interview with Doc's Revenge Primus, King of The Ash Sea Islands

It's not often a journalist has a chance to interview such an influential and charismatic person. I was elated when Sir Doc's Revenge Primus, King of The Ash Sea Islands agreed to an interview session for the Revealer. Though Doc's busy schedule kept us from meeting face to face, he was glad to answer my questions via mail.

RedSpan Revealer (RR): How are the peasants & nobles who call "The Islands" their home reacting to the change of ownership? How is the rebuilding process coming along?

The people in Worav are suffering from the numerous battles on the small region. Over 2,000 soldiers have died there in the past few days ... corpses are piled up high, and civilian casualties are enormous. Everyone else on the Islands are quite happy with ASI finally taking them back under their wing. No longer will they be treated as slaves and starved for the benefit of others.

(RR): Up until the recent battles in Worav, ASI had gained control of all "The Islands" regions. Why hasn't a peace treaty between ASI and Abington been signed yet?

(Queen) Armitage stalled on the agreement. Probably because she thought she could pull a fast one on ASI. This was of course prior to many things she had no knowledge of. The longer she takes, the tougher it will be to agree on something. The City of Woright was torched to the ground by the Abby Duke, and the Townland of Worav has lost two levels of fortifications. More damages on my people, more needless complications.

(RR): The word on the tip of everyone's tongue here in RedSpan: Sullenport. Throughout ASI's war with Abington (and even before it began), you have promised to return ownership of Byblack and Sullenport to RedSpan at some point. Do you still plan to honor this promise, and if so, can you offer any type of time line as to when we can expect this transition to occur?

Yes, we do plan on returning it. As we agreed, the moment that ASI has the Islands -- uncontested -- under control, we will make arrangements to hand Sullenport and Byblack over to RedSpan. (King) Manaydur and I began to discuss the project weeks ago when we first secured the Islands, assuming that (Queen) Armitage would accept our messenger for better relations. She did not...and (King) Manaydur had the wisdom not to "bring the subject up again" as a real gentleman. I don't like starting things I cannot finish ... so I am equally ashamed that ASI doesn't control the Islands fully, nor RedSpan flying her banner over Byblack and Sullenport.

(RR): Any plans you have after the war with Abington is over that you'd care to share with us?

I'd like to end my war with Abington quickly, and share limited skirmishes in and around a realm that is pending resurrection. ASI pledged -- in retaliation to Abington's invasion in Worav -- to aid her allies in bringing back our fallen Comrade ... if Abington allows this to happen peacefully, ASI will once again offer defensive aid. If the realm falls for a third time it just wasn't meant to be, and hopefully, ASI + Abington can be completely out of each other's hair forever -- if not at least for a good long while.

(RR): What do you like and/or respect most about RedSpan and its people? Why?

I respect that RedSpan has not involved herself in a war that doesn't "concern her" so to speak, unlike the last time around. I figured "If RedSpan attacks our flank again, then she will not change. If she is Honorable, she will not attack us, and ASI will gladly give her regions lost with a dishonorable act committed long ago." In my book, you Goat-praisin' fellas are okay. You've proved strong amidst open temptation, and for that, ASI will not forget your Honor in this matter -- and in matters to come.

(RR): Which Pillar of Da Way (no soap, no shaving, no pants, drink alot, and no shiny stuff) can you most easily identify with? Why?

* A large red drop appears here, and it a few words appear smudged ... they may read : Drink Alot.

Why?

Because I grew up in the front lines ... been fighting all my life ... we tend to drink and march ... and then drink some more. For some it eases the pain, dulls the carnage, but for me, it makes living life that much more enjoyable. I am known for my drunken pranks, and sense of humor ... you haven't heard of any tales I take it? Probably a good thing ... the last one involved lighting Moses' favorite bar-stool on fire, which then led to ... never mind.

Always a pleasure talking with you Shamus, May Da One bless you today.

This reporter would like to thank Sir Doc's for his time and honest, straightforward answers to some very tough questions.

Talerium Told Straight!
A couple of Days ago, our King Mayandur sent this letter to the rulers of the world.

Letter from Manaydur Message sent to the Rulers of this world (13 recipients) I know the flowerbeds in Lurgrod are great...really..and you all invited yourselves to see them, in fact..most of you guys are invited..not all..but most.

Now..of course we are not enjoying the fact that you are pestering our buddy Abington...complicated stuff...Doc's and i play chess together every Sunday but his brother has a cousin in Norland married to a one eyed Smith in Icegate who has a neighbour with an uncle in Minas Ithil...anyway...complicated stuff..

So...our hands are tied and meanwhile we focus on this quarrel at our neighbour Carelia...Carelia is the good guy so..off we go..no problem...

where was i?..oh..some of you decided to take the flower-route to Abington and were polite enough to ask permission to travel through our regions.

So..we all looked to our western borders while troops marched through our regions to attack our federation partner...painful..but what can we do?

But there is always one who spoils the party...and its always the same one... Decency?never heard off!!...and i thought RedSpan was a realm of vagabonds and pricks!!

Anyway...Talerium troops aren't welcome in RedSpan.

P.S. Am getting reports of missing buttercups and daisies, probably picked from the Lurgrod flowerbeds...please inform your generals..thank you so much.

Manaydur King of RedSpan

With that statement Redspan Lowered its stance with Talerium to Neutral. Lets hope that our lands will not have any more foreign graves.

Tony

War Rages in Carelia
While the Redspan/Tara war grinds to a halt with a ceasefire agreement between King Manyadur and Dictator Jonathon, war continues on the Carelia - Cagilan Empire front. This front had been heavily fortified by Abington forces, but when problems closer to home pulled the larger realm back to defend their lands and Redspan was still actively fighting Tara, Carelia was left to fend for themselves. Cagilan Empire brutally seized Nida and Oyonnaire, and terrorized other Carelian regions. When the Redspan - Tara agreement was signed, Tara jumped on the bandwagon, and seized Craigmore. After recovering losses, and catching up on routine maintenance Redspan joined the fray. As Carelia's only support. Unfortunately, after some communication difficulties, the Redspan army was spread from Stargard to Forblane. The fragment force, combined with a portion of Carelia's army, was smashed by Cagilans in Garnagi.

The Redspan Revealer has asked Carelian leadership for their opinions on this war.

"Carelia is the land of heroes. And we are fighting as heroes. We are giving an unfair war against the strongest realm, Cagilan Empire. Now Tara smelled blood and joined the party. Still, life is a circle, and it keeps turning. Remember these words, my friend." ~Kronos, King of Carelia

In the near future, it is assumed by this reporter that support by Redspan for Federation partner, Carelia will continue. ~Dielo

Kybcyell Is No More
A word of congratulations to federation partner Abingnton for expertly demolishing the parasite realm of Kybcyell. Wayburg returned to its rightful owner and the remainder of the supporting forces were either mopped up or fled. Since, Abington has made progress against Ash Sea Islands by bringing Worav back under her protection. ~Dielo

Redspan Speak Out!

Tarkus' Two Bits

Ok Ladies and Gentleman, maybe I'm just beginning to walk in my older brother's shoes more and more or maybe I am just a strange, bloodthirsty bugger but I am missing Tara and Darka right now. The constant battles were exciting. There was a rush in always being at the edge of a field looking out at thousands of other men ready to raise arms against you. I miss the times when we were backed up to the walls of Stargard and I miss being on Foda's doorstep.

Perhaps I am not a man of the people, I often look past their well being. I know that war is harmful to them, it causes suffering; husbands, sons and brothers are lost but it gave me purpose. as a politician I am nothing. As a sharp blade and a strong arm I am in my element. Let it be known that Tarkus shall always be at the head of the line when duty calls for blood.

(providing my scribe gets me the request on time. Where is he anyway, its been too long since his last kicking)
