"No Darren, absolutely not!" Dominic stood above his younger sibling, straining to balance on the desk and keep Darren away at the same time. Dominic held a small stack of papers above his head, using his other hand as an all purpose Darren deflector. "Darren, for the grunt last time! You are not going to cause more arguments and general realm instability with your foolish stories about daemons!" Darren, fed up with trying to get on the desk, lunged for Dom's feet. The desk toppled, sending both nobles smack into the floor with a sickening crack. Non-pulsed, both men wrestled madly for the stack of paper. "Ow, ow, ow!" Darren pushed back Dom, clutching his collarbone. "I think you broke my shoulder, you highbrowed egg-sucker! Those Deamons are going to kill us all, and you won't let me tell everyone!" Dominic curled his lip dismissively. "For the eight time, Zuma are not Deamons! I'd think you of all people would know that, being raised in that hellhole Darius moved the family home to." Dom stood up, groaning a bit. "They have some strange features, certainly, and they do worship 'Daemons.' However, that does not mean you can just dismiss them as evil, nor dismiss their role in society today. They, like it or not, are an Island wide power, if misguided. Should a small realm such as this act out against them, they would wipe us out in a matter of weeks."

Dominic rubbed the bridge of his nose. "How do you not get this? You can't beat the bigger guy in a straight fight!" Darren glared from the floor. "They are going to kill us all, brother. Just because you can jump ship and return to your stupid pointy-eared dorbels, doesn't mean the rest of us can." Dominic frowned, face tightening. He spoke quietly, "Darren, do you really think I care so little? Do you honestly believe that I, for even a moment, would just, jump on some ship, and leave you to die on this godforsaken Island?' Dominic nearly spat. "Do you really?" Darren sat in silence, staring at the floor. Dominic shook his head, crossed the room, and left the office. Darren closed his eyes. He could just barely hear Dom telling the guards outside the office door to get a healer.
