Preliminary conclusions on the trial of Antonine Octavius:

On the charge of corruption (rigging elections):

There was no obligation for any of the Colonial Brethren to vote as asked, and is no method with which Antonine could have found out for whom they voted. This is no different to gathering support privately, and therefore I find him innocent.

In the future, all campaigning and gathering of support should be public.

On the charge of conspiracy (against the state):

The Colonial Brethren never intended to destabilise or disrupt Oritolon and it's government. Their motives appear to be the opposite. Therefore, I find him innocent.

On the charge of lying to the realm (about the secret society):

Not telling the realm of the secret society is not sufficient to convict him of this charge - otherwise we must outlaw all secret societies. However, I am interested in the allegedly staged dispute between Antonine and Hendrik, and if any evidence were to be presented pertaining to the matter, he would be pronounced guilty. However, for now, he is innocent.

While his actions so far have not been deemed illegal, it is perfectly legitimate that he has lost standing over his actions. He has already been protested out of government, and that should suffice. If he is found guilty of lying, I think that a fine should be imposed.
