Erin sat inside the Celtic Order Guildhall pub, his eyes were glazed. Gazing at the bottom of his glass of Celtic Stout. A Jopponite peasant approached Erin.

“Can I sit with you Sir Erin?” The peasant asked.

Erin hesitated because of all the alcohol in his system. “Aye.” He said

“Sir Erin, where do you Celts hail from? I don’t mean Atamara. I mean your true homeland. Why did you all leave your homeland?”

Erin said nothing for a moment. “My father past a story down to me and my kin, like his father did for him.” Erin takes a large drink from his glass.

“The tale begins in a land forgotten by our people. We were defeated by invaders not of the human race. They were Fomorians, the goat people. I don’t mean Redspaniards either. It’s a long story of a king and his love torn apart by greed. Division of families, and war.”

“I want to hear it.” The Jopponite eyes light up.

Erin begins his tale.

In a forgotten land the Celtic people lived in unity. There were no clans, no chieftains and no civil wars. The Celts were led by a King. King Baro, the entire land was ruled by him. Across the sea lived another King that ruled over his own land. King Fremur of the Fomorians. The two nations fought regularly. The Fomorians lived in a barren land with little resources and the Celts lived in a rich beautiful land. The Fomorians were jealous and constantly tried to invade the Celtic lands but the Celts were too strong.

The Fomorians were a goat people, half goat half man. King Fremur was pure evil, he raped and pillaged his own people’s lands. He would rather save a gold coin then feed a thousand starving Fomorians.

King Baro was an honest and just king. Celtic people lived happily with plenty of food. Many different Lords from different regions around the kingdom sat with him as his council. Names such as Bhaididh, Hlomhair, Deaghaidh, Riley, Brien and Cormack. All stood as one.

King Fremur was a powerful sorcerer and practiced dark arts. Finally he came up with a plan to corrupt the Celts precious King. He had a Fomorian female come to him, he placed a spell on her to make her look like a Celtic female. She was the most beautiful Celtic woman in the eyes of the King Baro. King Fremur sent King Baro the Celtic woman as a sign of good nature and peace. King Baro stunned at the beauty of this woman accepted her and married her making her the Queen of the Celts. Her name was Medb. Now she was the Queen of the Celts. Over the years King Baro’s love for Queen Medb made him neglect his Kingly duties. She corrupted him with evil views. She manipulated him and over time he grew tired, gray and plump. Eventually Medb having done her job in corrupting King Baro. Left and returned to King Fremur, she was never seen again. Enraged by this act, King Baro declared war upon the Fomorians. The council saw no reason to fight the king’s personal war.

The council was now divided and eventually it led to certain lords breaking off from the kingdom. Now the Celtic kingdom was divided and fought amongst itself. Years went by the old kingdom was becoming a shadow of what it once was. King Baro had exhausted his resources and same with the rest of the Celtic Chiefdoms. Finally King Fremur made his move. He invaded the decimated Celtic Kingdom. One by one the Celtic Chiefdoms fell and the Celtic people were slaughtered or rounded up and deported to far away lands. Finally the Old Celtic Kingdom fell.

King Fremur himself walked into King Baro’s palace and cast one last curse upon his people. “With your blood split your people will be sent away from these lands. The very name of this land will be forgotten and should ever one of your people try and sail here and return. They shall be blown off course. Your people will die out. You’ll become extinct.” With that said King Fremur raised his sword and with one swift move. He removed King Baro’s head.

All the Celts were either slaughtered or deported from the Kingdom.

Erin looked up to the Jopponite. “That’s the story. I’ll never find my home.”
