Oligarch walls are breached

Sirion and Fontan troops have breached the walls of Oligarch City. While the defenders put up a fight, the strength of the attacking forces was too much. Rumor has it the battle then moved to the streats and interior section of the city. If Oligarch is not able to hold out, this could signal the end of their realm.

Those who follow the light give a prayer to the citizens of the city. In this type of warfare it is always the innocent citizens who suffer the most. When fighting moves into the streets of a city there are always citizens who cannot flee to safety in time.

Tournament Afterhour

The tournament is now over. 108 nobles from far and wide came to participate in this tournament of skill. Ambrosius took first place in the swordfighting arena, while Lancelot took the Jousting prize. All in all a great display of skill in both areas by the fine nobles of EI. While the displays of skill may have been over, there was still plenty of drinking and post event partying going on.

On a less festive note, scribes have just arrived at the tournament grounds delivering ill news to all LoF nobles. Apparently during our time at the tournament, certain citizens of Akesh Temple decided to declare themselves part of Caligus again. While the details are still sketchy as more detailed information is on its way, it seems that the future of the Akesh Temple's ownership is uncertain.

Tournament Announced

The announcement has gone out that Pontifex Lycastus is holding a tournament of swordfighting and jousting that is open to the nobles of all realms. While there has not been an event such as this is a long time on this island, I personally am looking forward to it. Hopefully LoF's nuetrality will help keep nobles hatred for other realms in check, and help insure a joyous tournament and fun diversion from the nonstop fighting of late.

Tournament Happenings

While the main events of the tournament have yet to happen, there has been plenty of excitement on the tourney grounds. It started off as any good tournament should with drinking. There has been quite the variety of selections of drinks so far. Not only is there those provided by the local brewing establishments, but also some nobles have brought various vintages and concoctions from their realms' brewers as well.

Besides the drinking there has also been the rekindling of Fuinur and Ragnell's love for each other. At first it seemed as though they would not be together, but after a private discussion in Fuinur's tent, it seems love prevailed over any hard feelings between the two. It appears that once the tournament festivities have concluded, Ragnell will head back to Old Rancagua with Fuinur.

Interview with Pontifex Lycastus

Why did you decide to host a tournament?

Why did I host the tournament? Well this tournament is being hosted to celebrate our Hold Temple at Akesh falling under our control. As I'm sure your aware there has not been a tournament on the East Island in a long time and I'm sure you'll agree with me that such a momentous occasion is the right time to do it. It will with any luck also lead to a bringing together of cultures and perhaps help bring an end to the huge war engulfing the continent through the friendships that will undoubtedly be formed.

With the current state of war, what kind of turn out do you expect?

Turn out? Well as to that I would hope at least 125 will make a visit to our fine city of Fontan, however with so many wars I'm sure we're all aware that a larger tournament would not really be feasible. I will be very happy if as many as 200 were to show for the tournament though.

With so many nobles from various realms showing up, is there any fear that old grudges and hatreds will lead to disturbances on the tournament grounds?

I do not feel that old grudges will pass into the tournament, the nobles of the East Continent have honor and am sure they will do their best to uphold the honor of their realms without resorting to actions and name calling unbeffiting of such an event.

New Region Lords

Omega has recently received command of An Najaf. A well deserving appointment for a capable and honourable member of our realm. Tempest, the previous lord, stepped down after being elected as Fiduciary during the monthly elections. Hannibal, our Haruspex Maximus, has been appointed as the Duke over Akesh Temple. This is a temporary post for Hannibal. He is only retaining lordship until the a proper site for a LoF temple can be found, upon the completion of its contruction he will step down and let a member who is strong in faith take over.

Akesh Temple Obtained

We have recently received the Akesh Temple from Caligus. While I do not have all the information as to what we gave Caligus in return, it is with great relief that we were able to obtain the Temple peacefully. Our priests, Pontifex, Haruspex Maximus, and those Nobles who have started their journy within the Light of Fontan faith quickly started inspecting the Temple. What clues the Temple may hold to aid us in our charge to fight the darkness has yet to be seen, but we are working to uncover them...
