Countess Lain:

The Great War has begun, and I will keep Dwilight informed of events that are public.

Roleplay from Lain Frostwood

Message sent to everyone in your realm (15 recipients) Gaston's bells rang, signaling the call to war, as Countess Lain rode through the streets to mobilize her men as the snow fell lightly across Gaston. On a predetermined signal, red Niselurian banners set up all over Gaston-the Banner guild had been working on them for weeks. Soon the entire city was filled with the crimson banners of Niselur.

As she rode through Gaston to where her men were stationed she a herald crying: A crimson lord riding the earth, quakes

Moving to where her men were stationed, Countess Lain said with a voice of steel, "Form up, for today the cold winds of change are blowing across Dwilight and we shall be the ones to ride them to victory!"

There was no need to say anything as Lain's captain Gunter and his men moved with ruthless efficiency born from fighting monsters for days on end, and moved in formation as the red Banners of her unit fluttered in the snowy wind, marching toward the city square where the army of Niselur was being gathered.

As Countess Lain's mixed infantry marched the red banners were soon joined by other banners as other nobles's units joined in the march to the square where the King Leopold and General Lux waited on a statue of King Boreal Arrakis on a horse, to give a speech before heading out.

Roleplay from Leopold Arrakis (4 hours ago)

Message sent to everyone in your realm (15 recipients) As he was moving swiftly through the dark hall that lead to the terrace hanging above the main city square of Gaston, Leopold could already hear the rumble of the great a many soldiers gathered outside. Hundreds of steppe warriors have arrived, heralded by the sinister ringing of the bells that have called them to war. Hundreds of weapons have been carved, hundreds of shields were forged and thousands of arrows have been transported directly from the gloomy woods of the Misty Forest - for Niselurians were going to war that will shape their future forever.

As Leopold entered the terrace the hundreds of voices greeted him with a powerful ringing of weapons and shouts. Leopold was astounded by the massive numbers that were before him. Nobles, edreun, faseas , rinnon, tribes and mercenaries...all were summoned on this historical day to witness the wake of the greatest army of Niselur that was ready to march to war. Blood-red banners mixed with the emerald flags of the First Edreun stood proudly on the cold winter day, for lords of every house, every region and every province were gathered today. Nobles glittered among their legions with their mighty helmets and armors that distinguished them from the rest. War steeds have been restlessly moving their heads, pressured by the massive armor that only infuriated these majestic animals to be even more dangerous in the heat of the battle.

As Leopold observed his legions he raised his hand which silenced the eager armies before him. With a thundering voice he shouted:

"Nobles of Niselur, On this majestic day we have risen in great numbers. The theocracies, fueled by the greed of the Elders have suffocated the faith of the Bloodstars to a point where they need to answer for their deeds. The Church of Sanguis Astroism has erred to a point of no return. They have tried to place their whips on our backs and drown Niselur in the lake of oppression and corruption. But we, true sons of the North, have risen against these threats and have made the Church stand in awe of our strength. The spineless people that lead our Church need to learn the hard way that Niselur is a free Kingdom that shall never yield or surrender. And we will show this to them."

Leopold slightly paused, followed by the roaring of the crowd before him, before quickly continuing again.

"None of the theocracies acknowledged or supported our rightful proclamation of a monarchy. Furthermore, theocracies, as earthly extensions of the Church Elders are directly responsible for the strength that the Elders continue to wield. The theocracies are blind, they support the wicked rule of the Elders regardless of the methods and consequences that the Elders cause with their misguided politicking. For these reasons the Kingdom of Niselur will stand up and fight. We have gathered much support as the Kings of the West shall rise with us on this sacred path of liberation. Soon, we shall break the theocracies and expand our mighty Kingdom to a point when the Elders will think twice before they try to enslave us again!"

The crowd cheered loudly and with each passing word was getting more and more eager to march.

"So, noble sons of Niselur, rise with me on this glorious day when we make history! Fight valiantly, like true sons and daughters of the North, and we shall be invincible! RISE, KNIGHTS OF NISELUR and fight with a ferocity unmatched, iron will and zeal of the greatest army that is ever to stand in these lands. For I assure you, that if we stand united and brave, we shall become invincible and IMMORTALITY WILL BE OURS!

Already maddened by the inspirational speech, the cohorts before him started to shout and smash their weapons against their shields in an accelerated tone, causing a huge noise from the center of Gaston that made Leopold barely hear his thoughts. As his veins were pumping with adrenaline Leopold mounted his warhorse, put on his war helmet and unsheathed his sword, pointing it high in the air. Mighty Darfus, the Bane of Beast, shone in his hand once again, like on that day when the reclaimed his throne. The stakes were high, the emotions were tense and everybody was ready for war. As the trumpets sounded the King's mighty horselords charged through the streets of Gaston, trampling everything upon their path, followed by the neverending numbers of Niselurians, lured by the sound of the war drums echoing in the steppes.

Letter from Leopold Arrakis

Message sent to the Rulers of Dwilight (15 recipients) Rulers of the world,

On this day, the Kingdom of Niselur rises to meet the challenge of the theocracies. The failure of any of these to acknowledge the rightful Niselurian proclamation of a monarchy and a preparation of a crusade against my Kingdom has alienated our relations to a point of war. The continuing support of the theocracies for the craven politics of the Church Elders, failure to muster courage to defy the chains of artificialities of the Charter, bullying and oppression are the charges I put forward against my enemies. From the perspective of the monarchic government of Niselur, this is a dangerous position we find ourselves in and as such we are compelled to act.

The Grand Principality of Phantaria has suffered from the same opportunistic, lack of apolitical attitude from the Church of Sanguis Astroism. Thus, the Grand Principality sees King Leopold of Niselur acting in our interests and we have diplomatically aligned ourselves with him to reflect that.

Furthermore, we shall immediately take action against Alaster Kabrinski in Terran who has made it well known that he does not respect nor recognize the Phantaro-Theocratic Accord. He has jeopardized the peace between our realms as well as refused to recognize the benefits granted to the Grand Principality under the said Accord. Thus, we shall now refuse to recognize the benefits granted unto Alaster Kabrinski and his Theocracy under the said Accord and shall resume the war against them.

Though I have shared some brief discussions of peace with King Veles and find him to be an honorable man, the reasons for the Morek Empire's war with the Libero Empire are too many to count.

1) Relations between our realms have soured steadily so since long before I became Grandmistress. 2) Though King Veles has been quick to resolve the many transgressions between Libero Troops in Morek Lands, the fact is that these transgressions have continued for far too long and the nobles of the Morek Empire have been demanding punishment for a great length of time. 3) Niselur has allegiance with various realms recently indicate that Niselur intends to corner off and surround the Morek Empire and her allies. War would only be a pre-emptive measure of defense on Morek's part. 4) The Libero Empire is a vassal state of Niselur. Niselur declared war on the Morek Empire and her allies, so by default, Morek's official declaration of war against the Libero Empire is at hand.

The Morek Empire will not be contained or repressed, though attempts to seek peaceful resolutions have been attempted, it seems only myself and King Veles made any honest efforts to obtain it. I am deeply saddened that this will undoubtedly stain my relationship with the good King Veles, but it is unfortunately an inevitability at this time. So, there are my reasons for the war, though I am sure plenty of you will find your own truth/excuses for it regardless.

Eviera Lanze Grandmistress of Morek Empire

Letter from Leopold Arrakis

Message sent to the Rulers of Dwilight (15 recipients) Grandmistress Eviera,

It is hardly a secret to anyone who has been involved in the north-west that you and your nobles have long sought to destroy Libero Empire fueled by the pure desire to dominate everything within your reach. The only thing that ever prevented you were the entanglements of the diplomacy, which is why I am not surprised to see your gleefully using this opportunity to strike. Morekian desire for control and destruction is a well known obsession which is evident not just with your dealings with Libero Empire, but in your dealings with the South, as well. Your mask of a peace-monger is melting away. But that what is beneath it is hardly a surprise.

For the Golden Rider,

Leopold Arrakis King of Niselur

Yes, we are a vassal state of Niselur - this was an arrangement that was made simply because Morek's previous Grandmaster forced us into it. Still, this is the agreement we made and Liberites honor their pledges.

Letter from Alice Arundel

Message sent to the Rulers of Dwilight (15 recipients) Rulers of Dwilight,

Luria Nova, being an ally of Niselur's, hereby declares war against the Morek Empire and her allies. Formal declarations will be issued over the next few days.

Beyond supporting our ally in the northwest, Luria is fed up with Morek's attempts to curb the former's development and prosperity in Lower Toprak. It seems more than apparent that Morek is the continent's bully, and now her victims rise up against her.

Let there be justice in the name of the stars.

For the Golden Eagle,

Alice Arundel Queen of Luria Nova Royal of Luria Nova Duchess of Giask Viscountess of Herle
