Ni'Tessine Family/Terril/Taking Umbrage about Elven Comment

It all started as part of a routine discussion about a proposal to create an army organization for bureaucrats, and devolved from there. Opportunities for RP tend to results from these little off-hand comments :-)

Tested in other realms? You mean a realm of subhuman elves, which rule over a much larger realm than ours, withfar greater needs than our own. We are the Dark Islander's, not a bunch of elves. ...

It is not a matter of the council disagreeing, as Holy Legate I am outright vetoing the creation of this army.

> a realm of subhuman elves

This... is a problem. I'm hardly a warrior, yet I cannot let this affront stand!

Yours,

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

(Personal message to Farnese Vanimedle')
Lady Farnese, I'll ask once. Will you retract your comment about "subhuman elves"?

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Treasurer, I do not see your point of contension. Elves are not humans.

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

Your wit is as dull as ever, and your attempt to legalese around your comment (apparently you missed half of it, and there were only two words I quoted) is just as sharp. So be it.

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

... I was not being witty. I do not see your point of contension, elves are not humans, and thus subhuman. Do elves not like being reminded that they are not human?

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

I suppose you'll tell me you don't know the meaning of the word? You are either playing dumb or actually are. Either way, it matters not.

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Well now I am very confused Treasurer. Subhuman means "less than human", genetically speaking, Elves are part human are they not? Technically making them "less than human".

Do you simply not like to be reminded that you aren't human? Or that due to interbreeding you are essentially less than human?

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

I know not of genetics, but Elves are not in any part human, and certainly not "less than human". Hence the affront...

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Well, you don't mean to say that elves are superior to humans do you? Then I would be the one to take offence.

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

I've never claimed anything -- it was you who made the comparison and that elves are "subhuman".

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Well, if they are not human, then they are not on par with humans, then that means they are either superior, or inferior.

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

I suppose you don't know the meaning of the term "on par" either?

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Treasurer, I am most fascinated by you... elves. Perhaps you will oblige me in meeting me face to face at some time? I imagine you would also be most interested in Saxon's such as myself.

Lady Farnese Vanimedle'
Holy Legate of Arcachon, Countess of Ecsetuah

---

Indeed, we should meet at some time.

This needs to be resolved. Will you recant your comments, and in front of the same people that you sent that comment about "subhuman elves" to?

Terril Ni'Tessine
Treasurer of Arcachon, Marquis of Soniel

---

Treasurer, for now it is late and I must sleep, in the morning I shall marshal my thoughts into an appropriate sentiment in which to send to the clansmen.

As Treasurer Terril has been quick to inform me, "Subhuman" is an incorrect way to describe Elves, as they are not even remotely human, so, as per his request I shall point out my grammatical error.
