Mortis Family/Merlynus

Merlynus Mortis is the last son of Arthurious Mortis, and is a brother of the Current Patriarch. He currently serves Carelia of Atamara at the youthful age of 19 yrs old.

Unlike his elder brothers, his hair is the color of sunlight, and his eyes seem to be the colour of the skies above. Slightly lesser in height to the others, he is nevertheless formidable in battle. The preferred weapon is the Gae Bolg halberd, though he is proficient in the sword as well.

He decided to travel and explore their home continent, after the night of the First Reunion, asking leave of his eldest brother, but he had gleam in his eye, perhaps a trick of the candle light, suggesting an ulterior motive.

Gae Bolg Halberd, a History

The Gae Bolg is a halberd 7 feet in length, made of Tempered Steel and Wootz. Forged by a smith of antiquity, it's flexibility is not easily matched, able to flex and bend like a young twig.

Merlynus came upon this weapon in an abandoned hut while travelling from his home, insearch of a realm to serve. Evidently it was the hut of some hermit or sage, and by the look of the place, there has been some struggle. Blood was spattered everywhere, the place ransacked as if by thieves and looters, and the trees around had slash and hack marks. Suddenly as he was exploring the hut, the floor collapsed and revealed this marvelous weapon, which it seems was what the attackers were searching for. With some hesitation, he took the weapon and made it his own.
