History
The Kingdom of Sun Hall's origins are long reaching, and convoluted. Sun Hall was originally a Duchy within the Lurian realm of Solaria, the private hunting lands of House Solari. Sun Hall however, lead by Duke Malus Solari, switched allegiance to Luria Nova at the end of the age of the Lurian Confederacy, triggering the beginning of the Third Lurian Empire. Duke Malus Solari then became King Malus Solari of the Kingdom of Sun Hall. Following the conquest of Luria Vesperi, and the unification of the Hegemony, Sun Hall eventually shifted to be based in Shinnen, instead of its traditional territory in and around Poryatu. During this time, King Malus I abdicated in favor of Seoras Madigan. Seoras I eventually abdicated as well.
Records become scarce after this point, as the Empire was in the midst of the Great Decline, and few records survive that period. The next known ruler of Sun Hall is Queen Luarin Bowker, who ruled with distinction through the Great Split, eventually abdicating the throne in favor of King Staedtler la Stylo. The reign of Staedtler I was marked by frequent absences and frequent monster invasions which lead to the constant struggle to reclaim regions from the hordes. Eventually Staedtler I disappeared, and the throne passed to Sevastian Schwarzherzig, crowned Sevastian II, in acknowledgement of his father, the Arbiter of Solaria Sevastian Guile, who reigned over Solaria, and thus Sun Hall, as Sevastian I.

Shinnen
Description
Shinnen is the smallest city sitting on the coast of the Euschean Sea. The city is tightly-packed, always making use of its space - buildings tightly packed, mostly semi-detached, though otherwise usually with only a small distance between. Many buildings are at least two stories tall, and the taller and otherwise larger the building is, the bigger badge of wealth and renown it is. Copperstone is the most reputable building in Shinnen, overlooking the city with its almost imposing facade of dark grey stone and copper adornments.
The architecture of the city can vary from a simple white sandstone design with an orange, tiled roof with a few windows at its front and a square door, all the way to what is almost a palace; several front doors, engravings in the sandstone to depict a pattern (often an animal or a family crest) with multi-story windows, tall pillars and spires rising from the main of their home. Many homes lacking large gardens caused green-thumbed residents to take up gardening on their roofs in small garden balconies, or even on their roofs. This practice has extended to some of the wealthier citizens, who already have vast gardens with decorative hedges and an abundance of space.
The culture of resourcefulness has extended well into the culture of Shinnen, with Brightstone Academy being the pinnacle of education within the immediate area. It houses and organizes trainers of all fields of work, built in an octagonal building with a vast number of wings. While it is arguably too complicated, it ensures only the information needed is provided. With its vast variety of classes even open to commoners studying swordfighting, whatever you earn, it's the place to learn.
A notable spot is the monument for The Confederacy of Luria, which united the Lurian realms at that time. Shinnen was promised to become a great city within Greater Luria. The monument is regularly cleaned and is a reminder to all.
The March
The March of Shinnen is held in fief by the Margrave of Shinnen. The title is non-hereditary, and reverts to the Crown of Sun Hall when vacated. It is the traditional fief of the King or Queen of Sun Hall, dating back to the formation of the Kingdom of Sun Hall following the defeat of Luria Vesperi and the consolidation of Lurian lands into the Lurian Empire. This tradition, however changed with the abdication of Luarin I as Queen of Sun Hall. When she abdicated the throne of Sun Hall, she did abdicate the March of Shinnen. Her successor as ruler of Sun Hall, King Staedtler I instead held the Earldom of Shinnen Purlieus until his disappearance in early 1019.
Shinnen Purlieus
Description
The Earldom of Shinnen Purlieus cradles the westernmost Lurian city of Shinnen, in the uncivilized reaches of the Euschean coast. Overgrown farmlands and wheat fields stretch off towards the timid foothills of the south, the wilderness between dotted with the ruinous skeletons of sandstone houses. The sparse, insular population enjoy their distance from the heavy hand of returning imperial law, but suffer at the infrequent patrols that would otherwise ward off the remnants of the once occupying infestations. The roads are gruesome, tangled veins of hoof-trodden earth, in dire need of security, but they keep the villages fed with traveling work-hands and journeymen as they rebuild, brick by brick. It is not uncommon on your walks to come across the victims of years of wilderness and banditry; abandoned carts and wagons, roadside graves, oak trees turned to communal gallows, and reeking wastelands from the battles between man and beast. However, the nearer you approach to the walls of Shinnen, the stronger the air of community is. There is commerce, traffic, and the youthful opportunity for hundreds of families seeking to establish new lives under the shielding warmth of the coastal city. Slowly, this vitality is pulsing throughout the land with a steady influx of hopeful people by land and sea.
The Earldom
The Earldom of Shinnen Purlieus has long since been held by the vassals of the ruling power of the city of Shinnen. The title is hereditary, although the nature of Lurian affairs has seen to it that no dynastic successors have ever been named Earl. In the later days of the reign of Luarin I, the Earl of Shinnen Purlieus became the heir to Sun Hall, and following Luarin I's abdication, Staedtler I retained the Earldom. Following Staedtler's disappearance and the coronation of Sevastian II, Sevastian II appointed himself to the vacant Earldom.
