Birth

Zouus Khan is a young knight and noble of the Cagilan Empire, he is young, intelligent, and ambitious and bold all these make good traits in any warrior (in the right amounts). Zouus is very loyal to the Cagilan Empire and inspires to do great things under its banner, his sense of loyalty and ability to look into the face of danger unflinchingly has made he quit renwon. He will likely make a great leader one day or would if it was for his snobby attitude, quick temper, and often down right rudeness to those he deems lower then he is and often commands his men with a iron fist, demanding there absolute loyalty from his soldiers and that they always give there 110%. It is said though that (although these reports can not be confirmed) Zouus was born with a blood clot grasped in his fist, a sign that he was destined to become a great leader. He is the 2 youngest of his father he has a twin sister named Zirena who resides in Dwilight.

Beginnings

Zouus father was a noble in Hidale and close friends with the local lords so he had subtle influence in the realm, being Grand Khan over his whole tribe. When Zouus was young his father saw his son’s talents for leading, but he also saw how ambitious he was. He decided to send Zouus to the most renowned academically advanced school in the entire realm located in Cagil not far from home. It was there that Zouus met Quasar who would become his closes friend and ally in Cagil. Together they exceeded every one of there peers in every why Zouus become pit curly skilled in sword fighting of large two hand swords well Quasar was a skilled bow men. Both were excellent academically, However as fate would have it it turned out Quasar was the son of a noble who was a sworn enemy of Zouus's farther. Though it did not hinder the two friends’s relationship it upset Zouus's farther at the time to learn his son was friends of his sworn enemies’ son. So he decided to send Zouus far away in another realm to complete his studies.

Zouus never truly forgive his farther for what he did; after he completed his teachings as a noble and warrior he returned home at the age of 16, how ever on his way home traveling alone he became lost and found himself at a great old ruin , He decided to camp there for the night. Well asleep he had a odd dream he was inside the old ruin which he found out was a temple of a forgotten age before him was a dark alter were a strange crest was embalmed into the alter upon the alter rested a strange relic that was shaped almost like a small thorn made of gold centered on the seat sat a dark blood red ruby.

Intrigued he walked forward and sensed an evil presence, before he could turn back the emblem glowed red as did the jewel and almost seemed to explode with energy. Zouus felt malevolent power wash past and though him. He was thrown back and landed hard on the back of his head and blacked out. When he came to he awake again in his small camp he quickly got up dazed looked him self over and didn’t find and injury’s, but he did find the strange emblem crafted into his skin on the back of his hand. He marveled at it glowed lightly blood red the same color of the strange jewel he had seen in the temple he felt strangely different… stronger, lighter, and almost faster his mind seemed clearer. He guessed it must to have had to do something with the symbol on his hand. He looked it over he didn’t notice before but it almost resembled an eye with the sides curled up and one triangle on top, it then pulsed and seem to come to life and seemed blinked at him! He jumped back but when he looked again it did nothing and seemed normal again not even glowing any more. He quickly gathered his things and left the place as quickly as he could not wanting to look back at the evil temple.

Zacapa

As he left the temple area but the feeling seemed to have left him so had the mark on his hand when he looked again, on his way back he ran into some servants of his household they informed him that he was 3 days late an asked him what had happened he ignored there questions and merely said he was tired he asked them if they knew of a ruin temple in the area they said they had never heard of a temple in this regain so they continued. That was the last he show that temple he didn’t find out what it meant. There was a great celebration for his return home Zouus told no one of what happened, and were he passed the trail to manhood every member of the clan of Zack partakes to prove themselves, several days latter however his grand farther Zacapa became very ill.

Zacapa was one of the most renowned family members of the Khans. On his deathbed all the family gathered around as he and they said there last farewells. Then came the time for (as was family tradition) his prized passions to be handed down to his grand children. To Zirena he gave his bow and quiver said to have belonged to a great female warrior of there clan named Zemena who was said to have fired 100 shots and hit 100 targets at one points and another split a boulder with one shot. To his eldest grandson he gave his helm and breast plate. The helm was made from strong leather and hardened Saur scales (Saur’s a overly large lizard mounts with tough skin that come in varies colors and are strong and quick) with the family crested emblem on the forehead. The breast plate was made from beautiful bronze and gold fashioned in small bits and in the trims of the armour the main body was made of hard leather and Saur’s scales. The breast plate was sign of the person who would become the new head of the family Zouus older brother took it with pride. But before Zouus was given his gifts Zacapa told everyone to leave. When alone he said to Zouus “ come closer my boy” Zouus was always found of his grand farther because he had been the empires greatest warrior at one point so he quickly obeyed there had been times when it was only Zacapa that Zouus would listen to and treat at lest as a equal. “My time is coming soon I can feel it…now now… don’t look at me that way it is the way of the world… *huff* *huff*...”it was becoming harder for Zacapa to speak. “Before I go how ever I have one last thing to give you one my most prized…possessions” Zacapa nodded weakly over to the chest in the corner Zouus had not noticed before.” In… *huff*…there.” Zouus curios walk over to the chest with there family crest on it. “Go ahead open it…” Zouus needed no further encouraging he opened it.

The Sword

As Zouus peered in he saw a sword wrapped up in some unidentifiable cloth, he took it out an unwrapped it and couldn’t believe his eyes, the sword looked like a true work of art with ruins and carving of many symbols in language he did not understand. Zouus how ever felt an evil malice coming form the sword it had a carved head large enough to just feet ones neck in shaped almost like horns, like a crescent on it's side, it was dark red in some areas. Zouus could only feel evil coming form it pulsed like a living thing beckoning him to use hold, he could tell that the dark red was blood of those it had slain it continued to pulse with evil power, power form another hellish plane of existence.

He looked back to his grand farther questingly. “It is called Thanatos it is form the same plain you were given that...*huff* *huff*...Mark on your… hand…” Zouus looked down on his and only then realized the mark on his hand was pulsing in sink with the swords. “ that sword has been in our family form many generations passed down to those the fallen one choose to be worthy to use it” Zacapa exclaimed it was really becoming difficult for him to speak, he coughed again. Zouus: “I…I don’t understand…” Zacapa: “I know-*huff*- but I don’t hav-...ha--… have time to explain…please take the sword te.. tell no one Zouus… no one… there is only one thing I have time to…say in our family line there is a dark curse it- you will… one that demands at lest the total service of one individual every generation... I wh- wish there was more time… in the tomb in the…che…chest…” Zouus looked down and saw there was a rather large book at the bottom. “He- his name was Dyrus Khan greatest mind ever lived it was said… first to...to... Tame the mark he… he wrote that tomb in it lays the answers be warned some of it you will not understand it is written in a very old…language but in time you may come to know what it all means… that sword has powers it is said to bring power and fortune to some misery and despair to others don’t try to rid your self of it…it will always...return… please take care of it if any one other then someone without the mark touches ether the tomb or.. that sword will instantly die unless you give it to them… *huff* *huff* *cough* *cough*… before I go... This last thing I must tell you important… in your travels as a noble you will come across an old hermit he will give you a decision to gain knowledge TAKE IT and more will be revealed…”

That was the last Zouus ever spook to Zacapa before he died. now at least a year past he finds himself on the road at last a full fledged knight with more questions then ever and more and more questions the more he learns form his grand fathers age old tome.

Personality

Zouus is a man of action - brave, impulsive and straightforward. he is ambitious, and starves for greater power. He is an inspiring leader, leading his men by example, but always pushing them harder to the point they almost resent him for it. he looks down on those who are not of Royal birth as he is with disdain and ignorance. seeing peasants as not worth his time, and should be so happey to have the honor to speak to him at all.

deems weakness unacceptable, and those who flee from combat are not even worth his sword. which is way he does not run down or hunt routers. it is believed though it is for another reason why he does not lower himself to such acts, but denies that it is out of pity and mercy.

Zouus always seeks to gain power through methodically destroying others. Power comes through order, but one can be orderly about slaughtering cowards. he respects those who stand and fight, as well those gifted in the martial arts. he cannot stand for a coward.

he is stubborn and ruthless against those who stand in his way.he sees it as his Birth right to be great. his only flaws is his temper, So constantly maddened with rage is this man that he is quite frightening to behold once he unleashes his anger. a trait likcly gained from his berserker bloodline.

he Has always had a natural intelligence, one that is apparent to others. coupled with his ability to rouse a group of downtrodden folk with words of strength and determination that are not too flowery or noble. often He exerts his malevolent plans upon his enemies in ways that suggest he is devoid of conscience, but in truth Zouus has a strong sense and level of pride, and refuses to take unnoble like actions to win a battle.

never would Zouus lower himself to night attacks or ambush's. always wanting to fight his enemy "Face to Face", thus never deems to use cowardly tactics in battle, even if would assure him victory.

Tomb Text, page 32 of the Mysteries Book Of The Damned,

Some daemons can be forced into servitude by being imprisoned inside a weapon; these mighty weapons are thus called daemon weapons. Daemon Weapons are extremely rare, but also very powerful, often able to tear apart reality, shoot powerful sorcerous bolts of energy, grant the wielder extraordinary physical attributes, or perform other such unnatural feats. A Chaos warrior must exercise great caution with these weapons, however, as the imprisoned daemon will often try to rebel against his master, and attempt to devour the wielder's soul. One such weapon is the Slayer of Kings, originally used by the former Everchosen Asavar Kul, although it was lost when he was defeated. It contains the Greater Daemon U'zuhl.”

The "gifts" granted to the moral servants of the dark gods are varied and quite real and quite potent. To those who are afforded the dubious attentions of the utterly inhuman Chaos Daemons may find their strength increased or their senses sharpened far beyond the norm. Such rewards come at a price for the Chaos gods are capricious and have no reckoning of excess in the sense that a mortal mind comprehends it. More often than not, the beneficiary of too many gifts is stripped of both his humanity and his sanity.”

Tome Text, page 97, of the Mysterious Book Of The Damned,

Shades are the restless spirits of those who never had a chance to achieve greatness in life. A vaporous gray mist clearly forms the skeletal body of this creature. Its vaguely humanoid body is translucent and leaves a misty trail as it glides silently about. Only the bright violet eyes, which burn with great intensity, look as though they have any substance. These utterly invisible, incorporeal creatures can see all things for what they truly are. Quiet and discrete, shades prefer to avoid living beings. They seem content to roam the land where they were spawned, but most seem also equally at ease among other undead. These intelligent creatures sometimes serve in undead armies as scouts or spies, reporting anything they see to their superiors. Once they enter service, shades almost invariably remain loyal to their superiors and their cause.”

The howl of a wolf is an unnerving melody, and serves to remind many of the Empire's citizens that no matter how urbane their towns may seem, the wilderness is never far away. Wolves, like other communal predators, hunt in packs. They have a complicated social hierarchy that belies their savage nature, and are known to use sophisticated tactics to distract their prey so that the rest of the pack can flank their target. “
