Passing through the stronghold of Qubel Lighthouse, Bowie solemnly visited the memorial statue of the hero, and his friend, Duke Hexic Jeckyl. Bowie himself commissioned this statue to be built of his friend after he died fighting monsters. It originally stood in the ring of the Dwilight Dueling Circuit, but since the arena was closed down and the stronghold run by rogues it was moved to a garden beside the Ducal estate.

He reminisced about the good times they shared together as nobles of D'Hara, and the many times the two dueled together. Often for sport, but other times more serious. The last time he saw Hexic was when he escaped D'Hara after his coup against the King was exposed. Hexic waited for him in Qubel Lighthouse, told Bowie the only way across was through him, and beat him bloody in a death duel. That was the first death duel Bowie fought in, and not the last he survived. A few years later Hexic was killed.

As Bowie left the statue to continue his trip to D'Hara, he collected the memories of his friend. There are few whom he can truly consider friends, and they are always to be remembered.

What does he mean, he lost Bowie in Sallowtown?" Gustav shouted in rage. "How hard is it to follow a noble, especially if said noble, if I am to believe this report, incites riotous crowds wherever he goes?" Gustav slammed his fist down on the table and yelled at his Captain, "As soon as that worthless servant comes back, have him lashed for his incompetence! I will not suffer imbeciles under my command." Gustav then looked at the letter the servant had sent him, crumpled it up, and tossed it into the campfire. "Gather the men, we are going on a training march to Aquitane and back." With that, the Captain solemnly nodded and walked out of the tent to form the men up. Gustav equipped his armour and walked out of the tent.

"Move out!" Gustav ordered, then proceeded to mount his horse and start off without waiting to see if his unit was ready.
