The Exiled Prince sat in a cantina in Port Raviel enjoying a fine drink (or three). Since his escapade in Sallowtown failed, for the moment, he had taken once again to his old life style; wealth, women and whiskey.

As he emptied another glass, a tall thin man wearing a distinctly Sallowsian costume entered the scene and approached Lord Bowie.

“Are you Prince Bowie?” the man asked intently.

“Pay for this drink and I will answer you.” The defiant rascal replied.

Hmph, the man pulled out a letter spit on it then threw it in Lord Bowie’s face.

“They said you were a devil. Take this and choke on it!” The man turned and left.

Provoking this man made Bowie smile, then he picked up the letter and examined it. He pulled out a blade and thinly slit the edge of it. The letter slid right out.

The Prince opened it, skimmed it then closed it. He signaled the waitress for another round.

“Hey Joreena, bring me the whole bottle. I am celebrating!”

“What’s the occasion Prince?” The woman wondered.

“The birth of my son! Haaa! Those fools have decided to accept him into their culture as Sallowsian royalty, son of a princess. This letter says something about how the new leadership is more lenient towards foreigners. Guess they don’t want to lose their heads. ”

He began to laugh uncontrollably, tears running gloriously down his face. He banged his hands on the table as he laughed causing commotion.

The room stopped and turned to face him. Some were surprised, others expected it.

“Haaahhhha! They named him Winter after the season he was conceived in! What morons! Don’t they know his pedigree? Hhhhhaaahaaheee, now I will have to return to set him up as their next Grand Chief. What wonderful times lay ahead for the Exiled Prince of Sallowtown!”

The room went back to its business. Lord Bowie was served his bottle.
