Bowie passed the borders of the Empire and entered the rogue region of Ashrak.

In his mind he expected to find the region the same as it was five years ago when he ruled it but as he visited his former haunts he saw just how much the region changed. The estate he once enjoyed was a ruin having been torched and plundered by the peasant forces when the region overthrew him so long ago. The effects of the plague that wiped out the majority of the population was also present. Despite the evident signs of disaster the population was still numerous. He took this to at least be a sign that they recovered from all their ordeals in the past and were just waiting for civilization to return to them.

He visited the University campus he built and found it still active though noticeably impoverished. So much so that the Library he built and intended to be the largest was clean picked by bandits or the campus authorities to keep the University in operation (or they were the bandits).

His previously joyful memories were now being updated with miserable and cold sights. He could only hope the region would get another shot at prosperity and order. He would be a proud former-Viscount to see the day when Ashrak returned to grace. For now stark reality of roguery overwhelmed the order of nobility.
