I am sorry for the delay in the reply to the treaty terms. There has been much discussion in Perdan regarding this. It has not been easy to determine exactly what many of the nobles feel would be acceptable or appropriate.

Firstly, I have some questions regarding item 6 of the treaty, regarding the religious items.

"6. Perdan are to destroy any temples and shrines of the Triumvrirate and will remove and priest of followers of the religion from their realm. CoI will be given the right to preach and build temples through agreement of Perdanese Lords (Sinted please clarify this as I don't know what you want from this term)."

Perdan has always been open in terms of religious freedoms. Any religion that is not actively hostile to Perdan is free to preach their faith in Perdanese regions, so long as the local lord of the region agrees to allow it. Also, any religion is free to build temples in Perdan, so long as the local lord agrees to allow it. I cannot, and will not attempt to, force local lords to build temples. Perdanese nobles have in the past been very forceful in their defense of their religious freedoms. While the Church of Ibladesh would be free to preach, given the lord's permission, I cannot forbid the preaching of a religion that is not hostile to Perdan. As such, I do not believe that we can agree to this clause.

Secondly, the combination of terms 4 and 5 will result in a Perdan that is unable to defend itself against any foreign aggression. Not only that, but you are asking us to hand over our namesake city, the seat of Perdanese culture. Surely there must be some other way that your objectives of securing peace and safety for your realms can be assured. I would like to work out some form of terms that would allow Perdan to remain in control of the few regions we have been able to maintain during the course of this war.

Queen Balkeese,

I will be honest with you, like I always am.

Right now, Ibladesh is not willing to accept the peace treaty. Why not, well I have just received word from my Patriarch about some annoying things.

My Paladin Primus was captured in battle by Perdanese forces. As honorable our realms were, we (our judges) signed a prisoner agreement, which was never broken. (Except when few of my nobles were held too long but we accepted the apology of your judge, no grudge there). Now suddenly my Paladin Primus was not released immediately, as was stated in the prisoner agreement. I hear words of your Judge I'd prefer not to hear in times where Perdan is looking for a peace treaty. I hear the whole Senate was against his release.

What I am asking myself is, what you are trying to achieve here? Perdan contacted both of us for peace terms. We gave you a cease fire, you accuse us of breaking it (while I have already told you what was going on), you take over Brive and break the cease fire yourself (still accusing us). We are so gentle to decide to still give you the peace terms (without cease fire this time), which are now being discussed by all three realms I suppose. But then you do something like this?

Regards,

Sinted Dacara Pontifex of Ibladesh, Ambassador of Ibladesh

Friend Dobromir,

I have much points to discuss with you, for example the fact that Caligus gives CoI right to preach shouldn't be in this treaty, we can make up an arrangement between ourselves.

Anyway, before making official comments on the treaty (which sounded good but the religion part is ofcourse the issue), I will tell you that Perdan just broke the Prisoner Agreement and is holding our General in prison (and thus not releasing council members immediately). Let me assure you that Ibladesh is now in no state of giving in to any demands or changes Perdan wants to make. They have just made this negotiation worse.

Before going out and announce it to everyone, I want your opinion. Ibladesh is in rage over this.

Regards,

Sinted Dacara Pontifex of Ibladesh, Ambassador of Ibladesh

Pontifex Sinted,

In the first and second treaty I dont think you gave up anything. Remember this treaty is NOT about what Ibladesh wants. Caligus decided to give something back to Perdan because that is something we felt was best to do.

Regarding your general Lady Balkeese can you ensure he will be released as well as my marshal? I expect the treaty to be signed soon and there wont be enough time for another attack anyways.

Regarding the church. Caligus isnt part of the CoI and to put all of Perdans lands under the church's grip isnt something Caligus can agree to either. We will grant you preaching rights and temples only if the local lord agrees to it.

Ibladesh hasnt lost anything from the first to second treaty whatsoever. So I dont see why you are complaining too much. Regarding the cease-fire Caligus doesnt consider Ibladesh or Perdan innocent and therefore wont take sides on the matter.

I'd just like to get the treaty done.

((OOC : Wont be on for about 20 hours or so))

King Dobromir,

I am not talking about the treaty. I'm talking about the fact that Perdanese judge mocked and insulted us.

Would you mind talking to me in private before acting like you are siding with Perdan between the three of us? I'd appreciate that.

Regards,

Sinted Dacara Pontifex of Ibladesh, Ambassador of Ibladesh

Pontifex Sinted,

I dont think it has much to do with Caligus to be honest. I feel you get offended a bit too easily even when i just point out the obvious and not side 100% with you. I just speak the truth. Caligus is unaware of any prisoner negotiations between Perdan and Ibladesh as far as I know with a new judge that has to be re-discussed anyways.

Im sorry you feel the way you do. I never intended for you to feel we are siding with Perdan because we arent. I dont know where Perdan mocked you the new judge simply decided not to follow the treaty of his previous judge which he has the power to do so. Obviously he could have said so before your general got captured. To be fair our marshal is still in prison also.

Anyways hope you can clear it up and consider signing and spend the time forming a colony and building up new regions.
