Queen's Query

(Letter from Queen Martana to all the Rulers of Beluaterra after the undead announced their second pillage of Heen lands was imminent...)

I wanted to ask all rulers allied with the undead: who of them has asked for the undead to stay away from Heen?

If you did not do so, then in fact you are a hypocrite for demanding from Heen to ask the monsters to withdraw from Mesh and any other realm for humanity's sake, but not doing the same in return.

If you did do so, then you should wonder why it is that the monsters did agree to Heen's asking, yet the undead laugh at your attempt (please check your generals on this one again, please). Ask yourselves why it is that the monsters continuously fight for their allies, their battles rumored over entire Beluaterra almost every single turn, yet the undead leave your lands to go on a useless and vain attempt of vengeance, ignoring and neglecting the needs and protection of their own allies.

Do not be taken amiss by the undead. They claim they come for resources to Heen, but isn't it clear from Summoner's statements (and yet again I must refer to your generals too) that they seek vengeance and retaliation? If they speak of gathering resources, they have spoken of vengeance in that same message up to three times more. I even believe that he only mentions gathering resources when someone explicitly asks for his reasons to attack Heen. But he lets his rotting (sic.) tongue slip too much out of his own control when he mentions how pleased he is that he can kill Heenites again "who can hardly be called heroes". How pleased he is that he will come back to do to settle the score of his loss.

If the undead invade Heen (and I must add that there are already 1000 undead in Watto, Eastern Border) then you should read this message again. Each time you hear rumors of a battle in Heen, you must read this message and try to convince yourself again that it is not happening. Each time you must try to convince yourself that you cannot risk to thwart the undead and it is better to just let them do whatever they want. And then each time you ever remember Heen, you may try to convince yourself that all the above that you are trying to convince yourself of, is still humane and honorable. And I hope you'll have a long life.

Kind Regards,

Martana
Queen of Heen
