Greystoke Family/Daffyd

The first natural son of Lord John and Lady Jane, Daffyd displayed the true Greystoke desire to explore. As soon as eligible (the law of the family says you must wait till the age of 17 before leaving home) Daffyd took ship for Atamara. There he found Carelia, and decided to make his fortune there. Declaring his allegiance to his new home allowed his installation as a troop leader in the Carelian army. Largely through trial and error, he began learning the leadership skills his men and his realm needed.

Daffyd is now 18 years of age, and is seeking a career in the military as a knight of Cummaol. He still is learning much and studies his liege, Silverowl, Count of Cummaol.

Personality

Daffyd has acquired the personality of both of his parents, and at times even seems to completely be one or the other. Older peasants even fear he is possessed, having for a few days the personality of the father, then suddenly changing and for a few days having the personality of the mother.

When showing the aspect of his father, one can see the same quiet love of the land and its people. His love of a simple life and the observance of others causes him to speak seldom, but when he does speak he stands by his word even unto death. When in his father's p3rsonality, he seldom wears any badge of office, letting the glow of his honesty and honor shine forth.

Then, without warning, he can change to his mother's personality. Both parents share the same love of simple life, simply lived, without braggadacio or hubris. But, where his father chooses to be ignorant of all else, his mother understands the wiliness of life at court, and the basic decietfulness of most of mankind. AS does his mother, he will then dress flashily and take an inordinate care in his dress and appearance. Still humble in his demeanor, he will assume affronts to his clothing, and use them as excusses for confrontations. Almost all confrontations end bloodlessly, however, Daffyd will make wild claims as to his part in the confrontation. Only those who know him well or take the time to understand him, will see the twinkle in his eye when he makes these grandiose statements. They will recognize the sharing of the joke.
