Barely know you Baron, Barely knew ye Baroness
As of today, Baron Johan Jaron lords over the lovely patch of dirt down by the river on the way to the Holes in the Hills where the Tilogs hide from the daylight. We at the Guillotine hardly knew the outgoing Baroness Siobanh as she apparently wasn't one to mingle with the rif-raf. We were a bit surprised by the sudden abdication's timing though as she had actually traveled to Drenga to help police the streets with the grunts recently. Perhaps once exposed to the unending flow of testosterone and ale at the hands of the Home Guard, she found the prospect of going back to Briarull all alone too depressing to consider.

Giblot's Stabby Knightlife
It is no secret that Giblot has no hash marks in the allies column anymore. Back when Wetham lived, the shadows of the Guild seemed preoccupied. Now with that proud realm gone, the lowly saboteurs of the Dark Citadel have again been turning up in the Duchy in ever greater numbers. For those keeping score it is currently
  1. Assassins: 6 (or 8)
  2. Giblot: -1 (we did manage to arrest our own recently, more on that later).

Rumors abound that the Guild has been floating overtures of a cease fire. The word is our esteemed diplomat Jaoa is even now in Wetham holding talks. It seems to the Guillotine that stabbing Judge Gorham and attempting on Duke Will are odd steps towards peace, but perhaps that is why we are writing papers and not orders.

Drenga Joins the Duchy... Again
After a contentious election that saw Susan Testings commit suicide upon losing, Baron James Stormclaw perches once again atop the throne in Drenga. For many this forced a strong sense of Déjà vu, but sometimes to go forward perhaps you must first take two steps back. Nevertheless, the Baron of few words but way too many moves has secured several knights and the stick parties seem to be in full swing yet again in the land of stinky ale, and stinkier wenches.

Welcome to our new, uhm, Nobles?

The ranks of our lands have swollen recently with friends from near and far. Just yesterday Hlao Hlessi arrived at the docks in search of a new life. The Guillotine believes Hlao has a long career ahead of him in here in the Duchy. For as is fitting with the finest traditions of Giblot, our police managed to deliver Hlao to the jail on his very first day in the realm for the dastardly deed of attempting to assault Alnus the Longwinded.

In this last month we also saw the Trian brothers come stumbling off the family farm in Wirkfyr. The Guillotine feels compelled to warn you that if Tipraite offers you any of his "wine" that you might want to take your chances with Stabby Samantha instead. And whatever you do, never drink it while you play poker with either and especially not both, not on your life if there is a goat near by.

And last but certainly not least, the esteemed Constantine arrived to Giblot this month. Constantine is as we all know, not available for comment.

Thanks for the gold, suckers!

Well we have come to the inevitable conclusion of this first drop of the Guillotine. Next month we hope to bring you more cutting articles on the life and times in the 'Cultural Center of the Colonies'.
