Alys was a gutterborn commoner who sought prestige through her stealth and skill at arms. As an adventuress, she was fierce and thorough. Until the day she met her match with against an undead champion who ran her through with a rusty sabre and left her for dead.

When she woke some time later, she burned for greater purpose, a greater station. She cast off her common trappings and styled herself a lesser noble and would brook no words to the contrary. She figured nobles were no more than individuals with the right surname, so she took one for herself. She marched straight into the dukes office and demanded a posting as Baroness of Woodglen. Afterwards, none would dare contest her birthright.
