Major trade routes of Atamara (RPed, not actually related to game mechanics), according to the researches of Onliana Vellos. Many scholars disagree with certain specifics of this map, particularly regarding the distinctions between the Great Eastern Sea Road (GESR) and Great Central Trade Route (GCTR). Technically, the GESR is only the coastal roads from Leohampton to Suville. But, the primary points of disagreement regarding the GESR and GCTR are in the linking between the two south of the Great Lake, and the extension of the GESR into Norland and eastern Eston. Many students of economics argue that the the Great River divides the two trade routes. I have chosen to divide them at Barad Riel and Brackhead, not due to necessarily geographic or political reasons, but because the primary trade flow, historically speaking, of Brackhead was eastward towards the old Hasland territory and, more importantly, the sea between East Continent and Atamara. The same is true of Barad Riel. But with the recent Northern Federation, Barad Riel and Brackhead are quickly shifting to face westward on trade charts.

Many scholars also argue that the GESR and the GCTR should have a connector road where the come close together just south of the Great Lakes. That is true, they should. That was a typographical error. Though, it is also arguable that the political boundaries there affect trade flow, but I prefer to refrain from politicizing this trade map.

Lastly, there are some who maintain that there ought to be a trade route cutting along the narrow north edge of the Central Mountains connecting the Badlands roads with the GCTR. You're right, there should be. But... there isn't. The area was frequently used as a military road by Talerium, but has had little actual economic trade through history. The Badlands are primarily a north-south trade, though often their armies move to the east.
