Elementalis Rank
Members are encouraged to display their ranks in epithets in all letters of the guild and to the public.
Elemental Apprentice
An Apprentice of an Element will be required to learn the history of their particular element and take the First Grade Test in order to become a 'Study Maker,' the Journeyman rank.
Elemental Study Maker
A Study Maker of an Element will be required to learn the practical uses, the rituals and the theories of their particular element and take the Second Grade Test in order to become a Master Elementalis.
Master Elementalis
A Master Elementalis is required to provide a short composition on their Element. The composition can be on a topic of their choice, and must be submitted to an Elder before they are accepted Masters. The Master Elementalis has three months to produce this work or they will be demoted back to Study Maker and must retake the Second Grade Test.
A Master will also receive the most current studies and will be able to participate in the development of the Guild. They will become the teachers of Elementalis, will be able to develop new theories, and with permission of the Elders, will be allowed to found new schools.
Elementalis Evaluations
These are the specifications for the tests in which an Elementalis must take to rise up the ranks of the guild.'
Basic Test
For Students: In order to begin your studies in the Element of choice, an Element User must take the Basic Test. The material for the test will be solely from the basic card of the chosen Element.
For Elders: To administer the Basic Test, query the Element User three (3) questions which require a one word answer. To pass, the student must get two (2) correct.
First Grade Test
For Students: In order to proceed to the rank of Study Maker, an Apprentice must take the First Grade Test. The material for the test will be from the History of their chosen Element, and perhaps from the basic card.
For Elders: To administer the First Grade Test, query the Apprentice five (5) questions which require a one word answer. To pass, the student must get three (3) correct.
Second Grade Test
For Students: In order to become a Master Elementalis, a Study Maker must take the Second Grade Test. The material for the test will be from the Advanced Element, the History, and perhaps from the basic card of their chosen Element.
For Elders: To administer the Second Grade Test, query the Study Maker seven (7) questions; some which require a one word answer, others that require the correct answer to be selected from three to five options. As well, query the student to write a one sentence answer testing their knowledge of the Element. To pass, the student must get six (6) correct, and the sentence must be in their own words.
Master Composition
For Masters: As a Master you are required to produce a composition on your Element of expertise. This composition must be submitted within three months from the day you passed the Second Grade Test, otherwise you will be demoted to Study Maker. The composition must be at least a paragraph long, and, in your own words, discusses an aspect of your Element in which you take interest in.
It is encouraged that Masters write their composition on a topic in which they will further pursue in their professional career. Whether it be the beginning of an original theory, a newly formed ritual or another practical use, the Master must be the originator.
