Surrounded by the sea on three of its borders, Disnanas occupies the spur of land that reaches out from the south-western mainland of the Far East. The rugged and often storm lashed shoreline is home to numerous fishing villages. The salt winds that blow in from the seas make the growing of crops almost impossible along the shores, meaning its fertile farmlands are all clustered in the central plains.

It is on the northern coast that the largest settlement is found. The closely packed homes and shops of Stormhaven cling to steep slopes around a bay that forms a large natural harbour. This is the southern anchor point for ferries that provide the vital sea crossing to the city of Hatdhes that lies to the north. The wooden piers that project out into the sea are always busy with fishermen bringing home their catch of fish and lobsters.

The central farmlands of the region radiate out from the twin villages of Sarahna and Malinos. The inhabitants of both settlements are proud people and there is a strong rivalry between them. Whether it be which of the villages raises the best livestock, grows the finest crops, or makes the better scarecrows, the rival villagers will be sure to argue about it. The rivalry comes to a head on the first day of each season when they compete in the infamous drinking contest of Meklar's Bane. One man is chosen to represent each village, the aim being to drink as much as possible and be last man standing. The contest is named in honour of its first winner, Meklar of Sarahna, who accidentally fell into the brewer's ale vats and drowned during his victory celebration.

The western shore of Dsinanas is home to the small village of Whitecliffe, named for the chalk cliffs upon which it sits. Whitecliffe is mainly noted for its salt gatherers - peasants who spend their days on the beaches collecting sea water and boiling it in great iron pots to produce salt which is used to preserve meats.

Once a province of the lost realm of Lunaria, the region is currently governed by the Kingdom of Kindara. In the time of Lunaria, Dsinanas was noted for its spice trade, but the trade weakened and eventually faded away following the border wars with the equally lost realm of Soliferum.
