These records were found in a journal thought to belong to a Freeman named Leonard Galrous:

After 2 hours of searching, I finally found a small undead army. They were lead by an undead champion, an evil creature with more power and intelligence than the usual lot. Because I was close to home and familiar with the lay of the land, I was able to use the terrain to my advantage. The battle raged, just me against the undead. My sword blows land true, shattering the foul beasts to dust left and right. But then I must face the champion, and he is quite the opponent. But in the end, he is just another pile of bones. Among what is left of the champion, I found some gold and silver treasure. Among the treasure, I also found a unique ring. It had an inscription around the inside of the loop, and I realized this was an adequate name for it. The "Doomed Ring of the Undead" it said, and it sent chills through my spine.
