Just as the sun had burned off the the chill from the barren plains of Maycxal, Ruffina carefully handed the ancient sage the items that she, a new adventurer, had requested from her fellows in MIR.

A rusty signet ring from the adventurer Natheria and hair of a maiden from Ays.

The sage tinkered with them for an hour, muttering and on occasion doing odd chants, gestures and movements. Finally he returned with an item in his hands. Against all probability, he now held what appeared to a very wicked looking weapon. This is the "Dazzling Scythe of Daemonslaying" he said in a portentous voice, and there was a rumble of thunder (despite the fact that there was not a cloud in the sky). His gaze then shifted to the middle distance, and he handed it over, with the admonition "make sure you don't shave with it" before going back to to stirring his bubbling cauldron of green and purple stuff, with eyes in it.
