A Federation is Formed November 29, 2008
After a long and beneficial alliance, the realms of Outer Tilog and the Assassins decided to take things a step further, and join together in a federation. This came as no surprise to many, and one noble was even quoted as saying "I'm amazed we weren't in a federation already." A parade was held on the streets of Dark Citadel, and peasants lined the streets waving small flags bearing a black dagger on one side, and a gray thumbscrew on the other.

A New Sport Arises November 13, 2008
In my wanderings through South Bakker, I have found the peasants throughout the region practicing a new sport. This sport, being rather peculiar, is played by three teams of eight men. Each of these men carries a shield (The men I have seen use plundered shields from our foes, Wetham.) with three tines, like those of a pitch-fork, coming from it. Each of these tines has a pennant tied to the end. Each pennant is of the same colour, determined by team. There appears to be no standard pattern between teams. There is also a single man on horseback, who carries a similar shield with seven pennants, in a colour of his own. These pennants, unlike those of the dismounted men, are only loosely tied, and can be expected to fall off over the course of the game.

Each member of the eight-teams seeks to get one pennant of each colour upon their shield. When a team has managed this, that team is declared the victor. The horseman, on the other hand, has the goal of collecting one of each colour upon each of his tines. He loses instantly, however, if he ever falls from his mount. If he manages this, he is declared the victor. These pennants are to be obtained by any non-lethal method the player chooses.

The game is played on a clear field, of about a quarter of an acre. A player who leaves this field is disqualified, with his pennants dropped on the edge of the field. His teammates must, between them, collect an extra pennant of each colour to win.

The noble Randun appears to have learned this sport, and seems to enjoy it. You may wish to ask him if you want to learn more about it.
