Atamara Closes the Book on Falasan
As of today, only Menedor waves the last banner of the realm of Falasan. Mostly a peasant faction, they probably haven't received the memo yet. It won't last long, the people of Menedor will concede to our cause hopefully without unnecessary bloodshed. These are our people now, and we must show them that life will go on as usual. Later in this edition we will cover what finally brought us to war again with Falasan, the dishonor and deceit that led to this nations falling. As I said - the book is closed on Falasan - but we must not stash the book in an old oaken chest full of knickknacks and trinkets from the past. The book must be put on our shelves in our place of study, in our prestigious libraries where all may reference the events that led to the demise of a nation that existed along with the Cagilan Empire when nobles flocked to these lands when they were fist discovered.

We at the Tribune pledge to preserve history so it may one day be cherished, and honest, tales of antiquity. Page 2 is dedicated to the Honorable Duke Neleron and his recollection of the road to war with Falasan. Duke Neleron was in fact Ambassador to Falasan and drafted the Ansalle Accords, the treaty that secured the peace between the CE and Falasan. In some instanced, history is written by conquerors, but honor binds us to the truth as journalists and as Cagilans.

Shanandoah Impenetrable... For Now
"To all those who will fight in Shanadoah in half an hour I wish you good luck, though of course brave warriors as yourself do not need luck. You only need your own strength, the determination which marks our soul! We need not to cower behind walls because we are the stronger ones, but we do not fear walls either, we scale them. We will scale them until no snake-walls are left to scale, until there are none alive. Until their Raziel III and all those who follow him are dead for their insults! We will remain to fight this war until we have accomplished what we must. We shall make the world a more honorable place, we shall take out those who disrespect honor!

Brothers and sisters, I shall see you on the field, look at the banner of the mighty Eagles and you shall find me, look at the towers we bring to the field and you shall find me. You shall find me and all the brothers of the Eaglin Eagles I bring, but I shall not look back my friends, I shall only look forward to our enemies, only forward to the walls we must scale and then you all shall hear my cry for victory before we strike at their men! For the Empire and for honor and dignity!" - Marba Rosinian, Cagilan Empire's Marhsal of the Eaglin Eagles

Before the battle, the Marshal of the Eagles was attempting to heighten the spirits of his fellow attackers. He spoke not just to the Armies of the CE, but to the people of Tara, Talerium, Caergoth and several Corian troop leaders who tagged along. Indeed the walls of Shanandoah, like any capitol city, were high, their defense preparations were timely and efficient, and it was no rabble of peasants armed with rocks and shovels as was the case with Barad Falas. Dozens of Minas Ithil commanders commanded thousands of defenders, fighting ferociously to defend their Capitol. The battle was long but the combined armies of the Empire and it's allies was not enough to breech the walls and push back the defenders. Many good soldiers died that day.

Casualty reports indicate that many prominent knights, nobles and even royalty have been wounded in the siege. The two most prominent is King and Grand Master of Caergoth Regulus Blackmore, also Judge of Tara and Duke of Tarasac Gladius Aloysius.

Nida Finds It's Duke
"I would first like to express my gratitude to those who supported me in this election..." - Neleron Carna, Ambassador and Duke of Nida

Congratulations to Duke Neleron who won the majority of a stacked group of candidates with lengthy resumes and outstanding qualifications. A seat as Duke surely brings out many highly qualified contenders. Concerning Duke Neleron's service to the Empire, it is obvious without question. The man fights fiercely with sword, but perhaps more so with his quill. He is a formidable diplomat and is credited with drafting the Ansalle Accord with Falasan, which they obviously broke, but nonetheless it was a painstakingly long process. After which he was appointed as official ambassador to the Kingdom of Falasan. He truly earned his position as Duke and we all should give him our blessings.

Other notable contenders were Viscount Celestial, Marquess Famine, Viscount Zadar Nargath, Earl Toraan, and last but not least, a very ambitions young knight Sir Giskard. Quite the ballot indeed.

How Did it Come to This?
We must maintain a recollection of events for future generations. This was a founding principal of the Cagilan Tribune. As we apeak, enemy knights are spewing slander and propaganda, trying to defame the Cagilan Empire and it's allies. The text in these pages will record history as it unfolds so that our honor will remain untarnished.

Recall Shanandoah. This was the first time in this war such a massive coalition attacked a city of Minas Ithil. Even though it was by definition a failure, lessons learned from the past will help us succeed in our next encounter. Some my not even recall why the Senate decided to invade MI, in fact a minority insist it is an unauthorized invasion. But the CT will give you the facts as they stand. Initially the CE offered to defend Tara's borders against their enemy, Minas Ithil, as we are committed allies. Not soon after an MI man, known as Raziel III Himoura, the General of MI, openly tossed unholy and despicable threats and slander towards the CE and it's leadership. He goaded and insulted us for our defense of our friends in Tara. The MI leadership failed - or didn't even try - to curtail the threats, thus the majority of the Senate declared war to defend the Empires Honor. If leadership would have snapped the leash on Raziel there would have been no war.

But why did Tara and it's allies attack in the first place? It was intended to eradicate a religion called Magna Serpaensism. This religion - outlawed in the Empire - is said to manifest itself as a plauge on the individual's mind. It brings thoughts of corruption and treachery, turns men into single minded zealots set on changing the world into some demented vision they conceived in a pagan basement. Tara and it's allies declared war and invaded to eliminate this religion of the snakes. However, it was Raziel III Himoura and his dishoner that angered the lion and provoked his rage. The Serpent Religion is a convenient, but distant second, to clearing the honor of the CE.

The Unsung Heroes of CE
When we pray at the dinner table, we give grace for our friends. Our families. The soldiers in distant lands, the ones who just returned and the ones who never will. Next time you are at the table, give thanks to the Adventures. They are the uncommon freemen who dive deep into dark caves to confront a flaming balrog, or venture deep into ancient forests to face an ancient lich before he can spawn an undead army. Some Adventures never return from their quests, some barely even start. It is the price to pay for glory, gold, and one day the change to be a knight in the Empires service.

I had the chance to meet one of Atamara's finest Adventurers. His name was Galen Fury. He was a tall dark haired eccentric man who was interested in nothing else than showing me his massive collection of treasure and a list he tallied of Nobles who refereed him for nobility. I begged for an interview, but this is all he had to say about his obviously extensive exploits,

"Marcus, I believe my deeds and recommendations tell more about my exploits then my words ever will."

He then handed me two parchments with the following inscriptions,

My Recommendations:

He then grabbed the parchments and led me to the door where the peasants were preparing the blindfold. Before I was guided out he had one last thing to say, "For a long time I went around by my nickname of 'Divine'. Galen is my real name! I am Galen Fury, intrepid explorer and adventurer extraordinaire - the bane of monsters and undead everywhere"! He soon shut the door in my face and I was guided away. He probably had a busy day ahead of him. No doubt the man has been busy his entire life. Do you with to own a valuable artifact that may sway the tide of battle? Contact Galen... The man is all business.

Interview With the Honorable Lord Shanka Foonfa
Just recently we sat down with the Honorable Lord Shanka Foonfa, internationally known as the former Prime Minister of the Cagilan Empire. We picked his brain on a few key issues and he was happy to share his thoughts. A few words of about Lord Shanka, he looks to be a man in his middle ages, word of mouth claims he is much older than he looks. But he carries himself well, though the marks of age do indeed show. The man has a natural graying that shines like silver, it hangs shoulder length. A rather tall man, taller than average. A but paunch, but not at all an indication that the man would not be handy in a bar fight. He wears a long, dark blue tunic with the beautiful gold and red Courcelle family crest in the center. When we last saw him he has yet to turn over the Mace of Service which he would pass to the new Prime Minister at the most convenient time.

"Lord Shanka, thank you again for this interview we know everyone wants to hear what you have to say. First of all we all thank your for your service to the realm and we thank you for honorably stepping aside for Prime Minister Zond. A true show of statesmanship.

Firstly, you have been praised highly for your service as Prime Minister. What were one of the hardest calls you have had to make?"

"I would say my hardest decision was ordering the renewal of the offensive against Falasan. I hesitated as long as I could, giving them as many opportunities to mend their ways. They refused to abide by the treaty, and my hand was forced."

"War is never easy. But in doing so, Coria has in fact doubled in size over the past two wars. What do you see in the future between the Cagilan Empire and one of its closest allies?"

"Regarding Coria, I see things always being relatively close, but they have shown from the start that they are an autonomous realm, and no sister-realm to Cagila. They show no allegiance more than the average realm, so I do not count ties with them as being all that close. Everything that we asked them to do since their forming has been a negotiation. They demonstrated that they do not feel that they owe us anything. I would urge my successors to not automatically count on their assistance in any issue. Honestly, many would not agree with this, but I see King Bartho of Carelia as a much closer ally to the Cagilan Empire than Coria."

"Interesting. Where do you see yourself in the future? We just recently heard that you and your Special Forces unit alone wiped out a massive horde of undead!"

"I am going to be shortly leading a retired life. I am currently traveling along with my brother to the front to help with the remaining Falasan regions. I look forward to helping to seal the coffin on that traitorous realm. I will soon return to our lands and live out the rest of my life quietly. And yes, my men did skirmish with some monsters, losing a few of my men in the process. But the region was cleansed. Long live the Empire!"

"The Empire will indeed live forever as long as we still have men and women as ambitious as you my Lord. Thank you for your time. Oh! Excuse me Lord Shanka, Viscount Antonio insisted that I ask. The Special Forces you recruited, were they from Ravening or Woodglen?"

"As far as my men? Well, they are from Woodglen."

Thank your again Lord Shanka. We thank you for your continued service.
