The following battle took place on 2023-12-26 on South Island and offers excellent study material for how a siege works.

  • The center line does not belong to the wall.
  • Within their level 5 fortification both incoming melee and ranged hits are reduced by a little over 37%, suggesting hits are reduced by 7,5% per level of fortification. (the fortifications had 3% damage at the start of the battle)
  • The attacking cavalry is stopped by the walls, but becomes involved in battle once the defending infantry has won the battle for the walls.
  • My cousin Dirk did not bring a siege engine, but his unit was allowed to use the siege engine of friendely units.
  • Defending infantry with defensive behavior will advance until the Outer Wall (1st line) and hold 2x (which might explain the difference between Muncho and the 21. militia), after which they will continue their advance. The early advance by Wulfric can be explained by normal behavior instead of defensive behavior.
  • Defending ranged units with defensive behavior seem to wait 5x before they advance, as suggested by the behavior of the unit of Gregoire.
